Show average time instead of score on main sleep view

Fitbit app used to show weekly/monthly average sleep hours per day on the sleep view but now it just shows average sleep score. Can Fitbit please go back to showing average sleep hours rather than sleep score? Or at least give users the option to choose what is displayed. Average sleep hours would be more meaningful to me.

I'd like to see my average hours of sleep instead of my sleep score. We should be able to have that as an option.

I need average hours slept.  The score does nothing.

Agreed.  The sleep score doesn't give me anything actionable to work on.  And just makes it harder to read my detailed sleep analysis.

I also agree. This is a terrible feature. Make it optional now please!

I agree with above. The sleep score is totally useless. PLEASE allow the option of seeing the weekly average of # of sleep hours. That is useful, you can get rid of the sleep score. If the average number of sleep hours does not become available again, I am considering looking at companies and will change products if they offer the weekly sleep avg. and Fitbit does not

Agree 100% !  Need to see average hours slept.  Please bring it back.  Thank you.

I went through the hassle of signing up so I can access the forum and leave this feedback. The new sleep score is giving me sleep anxiety. Every time I woke up last night, I thought, “Oh no, I’m going to get a bad score now. I need to fall asleep right away... come on, fall asleep!”  Maybe some people want a score, but I want a way to hide it. It just makes me feel bad when I wake up to see a 69, a frickin D.

Please give me the choice to delete this feature. I don't need fitbit to score my sleep. Leave that up to me. I am way beyond wanting to be scored.

Please give the option to turn this stupid option off. I will divorce Fitbit over the recent changes - I do not need my step counter and heart rate monitor scoring everything I do. So stupid!

I agree. The sleep score is completely useless and irrelevant to me. The average weekly sleep, however, is one of the main things I have a Fitbit for. I track my steps per day and during a run, and I track my sleep. Please bring back the average sleep number and make it prominent, right at the top, not somewhere where you need to dig deep, or pay a premium, to find it.

Hi @1LaTonia. and @Kim8888. Thanks for explaining why you'd like to see the weekly sleep hours on the Fitbit app with us! I've moved it into a similar request. You can also check this other suggestion, post a comment or click on the thumbs-up to show your support.

The moderators keep shoving us into this one post to hide us from the rest of the Fitbit community. They don't want to bring average sleep hours back because they want us all to go buy fancy new fitbits that shoot lasers into our blood so that we can get stats that can easily be done on a calculator. I've been starting to use the Fitbit app less recently because it's starting to become more and more useless. Not cool Fitbit, not cool.

Totally agree with the original post/comment.  I want my average sleep hours data back!!  The sleep score is ok, but not nearly as valuable, useful or important to me as the average sleep hours.  Please bring it back, or at least give us the option to choose that set of data instead of or in addition to the sleep score.  If I had to choose between score and average sleep hours, it would be average sleep hours preferred, hands down!!

This is especially crucial for those of us whose devices don't even give us a sleep score. My average is always 0! It would be better not to display any average at all than to display that!

Guys and girls, they won't listen here. All we see is the same meaningless copy-paste reply they have been giving for two months already. They simply don't care, because we already purchased our devices and they already pocketed our money, so whatever we say or think AFTER the purchase is not interesting to them any more.

At the same time, they do care about negative reviews that other potential buyers may see. But people who are thinking about purchasing a Fitbit, won't visit this forum, so we need to take it outside. Lets leave 1-star reviews on App Store, Google Play, Amazon, social media, etc. I bet that a hundred of 1-star reviews on App Store or Google Play will ignite some action faster than a hundred of complaints on some obscure internal forum visited only by existing customers.

I agree with all of the above. I need average hours not a derived number. At least give the option to put it back the way it was. And please make that amount at the top of the screen a whole lot smaller. I'm a nerd, I like graphs much more then circled numbers.

This change to remove the average sleep is terrible!!! This new sleep score is completely useless!! I’ve already gone to the App Store and given the FitBit app a 1 star for removing this feature! Bring back the average sleep!!!

I absolutely agree! Give me back my average hours slept. The “sleep score” is useless to me!

How many complaints do you guys need to make a change? The forums are riddled with disdain about this new "feature" yet after nearly 3 months nothing has been done about it!!!

I've been watching my average hours of sleep for forever and comparing week to week.  I miss this feature terribly! The whole reason I wear my Fitbit to bed is to keep track of how much sleep I'm getting from day to day and week to week. I can't even look back to my previous weeks anymore because it's now just showing sleep score 0. I see absolutely no advantage or point to the sleep score and find it more annoying than anything. Please bring back the average sleep!

I agree! I find the sleep score depressing and demoralizing. I want to know my average number of hours sleep/week, which we used to see. I care a lot more about seeing hours slept, plus REM and deep stats--the basics. Sleep scores are a vague stat, meaningless to me. Keep it as an add-on or an option, but let users CHOOSE their default.

If my testing today is correct, taking naps won't alter your Sleep Shame, er, Sleep Score.  I had a DEEP 1.5 hour nap today, but it didn't budge my finger-shaking score of Fair (73).

THERE IS A WAY TO SEE YOUR CURRENT WEEK (7 days) AVERAGE SLEEP HOURS!!

When at the screen with sleep scores, swipe 3 times to the sleep stages
detail screen. Then tap the screen and your current 7-day average sleep
hours pops up.

I dont see a way to see past weeks averages anymore. Maybe have to write
it down . . . ?

@jypsyqueen

This only works if your tracker monitors heart rate. Those that don't track HR don't have a sleep stages screen.

Even for those that do this is quite inconvenient and requires something external (ie writing times down) to keep track of previous week's averages and to compare them.

Whilst to some this may not be a big deal, but considering it was something that was already in the app and has since been removed, many of us are quite annoyed by this change.
