Trade in/Upgrade Program

I've been a fitbit user for a little over a year now, receiving one as a gift last Christmas. Now seeing how my flex is so behind the times, I would like to upgrade to one of the HR ones. However, spending another 130-150 is very difficult. Wanting Fitbit to offer an upgrade or trade in program to allow for this to be more affordable.

I received a charge 2 for Christmas as a gift. It is unopened. I really want to exchange it for the Ionic. However there is no exchange policy. I would love to be able to send my unopened tracker in for a credit towards the new one. Rather than asking the person who was nice enough to give me this gift to go through the return process for a refund, then ask them for the money to buy the new tracker myself.

Good luck!! They have some of the worst customer service that I've ever experienced! Completely, wholeheartedly wish I would have gone with Garmin!!!

I sort of feel the same way, however the prior Garmins I had broke after a
few years , and it wasn't the battery- it was the LCD : lighting / info
screen.

Hello,

I have a fitbit flex and was looking for a replacement band but you guys no longer sell them. I asked if you guys had an upgrade/exchange feature to upgrade to the newer version but you don't. I think that would be a helpful feature so all of us with the flex can get the newer one and won't have issues with finding replacements bands. Thanks!

Hello,

I've had a Surge for about three years now and I'm looking to upgrade my device. At the time of purchase my Surge was $250. Now the product is slow and is not as accurate. I'm looking to upgrade to the Ionic. Since, I've been a customer for three years I was hoping I would be able to return my device for credit towards the latest device. My Surge still works but would likely need to be wiped clean and reset. I would be super interested in purchasing the Ionic if I can get some credit for my current device.

I love this idea! I got the Alta and then shortly after the Alta HR was released! I've been wanting one ever since, but can't dish out another $100+ when my current Alta is new and in perfect working condition. Would love the option to trade it in and pay a price difference!

Hi,

I have fitbit surge and want to upgrade to newest version. But, what will I do with old one? should I scrap it? Each customer wants to upgrade their existing one if you have an option giving some credit to existing one. If you have that option they don't easily switch into other brands. Look your other competitor's strategy, they are keeping customers because whenever they upgrade they trade in the custoemrs old product. I think this is a good idea to implement this to give more value to the customer.

thanks

I have had some luck getting some money back by selling my trackers on eBay after upgrading. It's not a guarantee though. 😕 To get the most back it is good to have the original box and all accessories. And extras like additional bands.

I could totally use a trade in program. I recently was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder that affects my joints and they like to dislocate. Well before I knew this the charge 2 was perfect for me. But now I am limited and the only exercise I am medically allowed to do is swim and the charge 2 isn't waterproof. So a trade on program would let me upgrade to one that is and really get the most out of my fit bit. It would mean the world to me as I have to be incredibly careful now and always monitor my heart rate because I'm at risk for vascular problems with too much pressure so I really rely on my fit bit I don't mind paying the difference, but if it's a working fit bit I believe you should offer a trade in program or an upgrade program like most companies do now days. And especially for people who medically could benefit from it like myself would be eternally grateful. Because with all the hospital and Dr bills there isn't a lot extra to be running out and buying a new fit bit every year because you all keep progressing and making things better. It' just not feasible.

I have the Blaze and love it. But I am interested in the Ionic. I wish your company had a Trade In/ Upgrade program. Or even a Buy back program where users could use the money towards a new product. Kind of what GameStop does.

Years later, and this is still not implemented.  I would love to buy a new fitbit but what am I supposed to do with my current one?

Hello!!

I am suggesting a type of trade-in program for your fitbit devices! For example.. I would like to purchase the new FitBit Versa and have the Blaze that is in excellent condition. In the trade-in program, I would be able to mail it into you guys for a certain $ amount towards buying the versa (say like $50 off or so), and then pay the remaining total of the Versa.

I think it would be a great program!

I'm so mad that there's already a new Fitbit coming out! I haven't even had my Ionic for a year yet. This Versa looks like what I was really hoping for! It's much sleeker! But now I'm stuck with my Ionic. I love Fitbit... But there needs to be a trade in program!

Yes!! I have the original Fitbit Alta (and have used Fitbit for 6 or more years, with other Fitbits before this) and it would be awesome if I could exchange my old Fitbit and receive some kind of credit to upgrade. I really want the new Versa!

I definitely think that a trade-in program would be nice for several reasons: reduce waste by returning our devices, save customers' money while promoting the newest and latest products, and allow consumers a way to upgrade without a hassle. I'd certainly look into participating in this program to retire my old Fitbit.

I love the Fitbit community. I love the features, i have the Fitbit Blaze and want to get the Versa. Please consider the trade in program. After paying about $150-200 for the one watch, it makes it hard to get another one.

I believe they should have a trade-in program. It would be perfect. I have the flex and I would love to upgrade but money is kind of tight. But if I could turn in my charge I could have an extra bump to get something more advanced such as the heart rate tracker.

UPGRADE/REPLACEMENT
The current Fitbit replacement policy does not allow for me to upgrade from my Charge 2 to a Fitbit Versa.  They currently have 50% off a new Fitbit with the replacement, This offer is not applicable to Fitbit Ionic, Versa or Ace.  I've had issues with my Charge 2, and don't care to get a replacement, but rather upgrade to

another newer device.  Fitbit needs to at least allow for the upgrade with the 50% off.

I, too, would really appreciate a trade in program. I have the original Flex and am interested in upgrading. Amazon has this type of program with their Kindles, and while the value isn't huge, it's at least something and allows users a great option to recycle their older products. Fitbit could really benefit from this program as well. It seems like return customers would be. high priority for the company. This program would ensure that customers would return for upgrades and new products. I highly urge Fitbit to consider this request. It seems to be in high demand from all users. Thanks so much.

I would love a trade in/upgrade program. I would love to get the new Versa but don't want to have three Fitbits. I still have my One and the Charge 2.

This has been previously suggested a few years back so wanted to add it as a more recent idea to be in line with the times. I have used my Fitbit Alta HR for almost 2 years now and getting a bit jealous looking at the newest models... would love it if there was an upgrade program where you could trade in your current FitBit and use that towards the costs of a new one. Believe me I know they are worth investing in but frequently buying the most up to date model can be expensive, would keep customers loyal and attract those who don’t alrknow day have one as an amazing and more affordable product than such as an Apple Watch
