Trade in/Upgrade Program

I've been a fitbit user for a little over a year now, receiving one as a gift last Christmas. Now seeing how my flex is so behind the times, I would like to upgrade to one of the HR ones. However, spending another 130-150 is very difficult. Wanting Fitbit to offer an upgrade or trade in program to allow for this to be more affordable.

I got my Fitbit Blaze in December. Versa came out shortly after that. I am very disappointed that the Blaze is now discontinued and I am stuck with a product that is no longer supported with updates and features. I also have a Charge HR. Fitbit needs to have a program where customers can trade-in their old devices which are no longer in the Fitbit family line for an upgraded product.

I have the Alta and the Blaze, my husband has the Charge 2  It would be wonderful to have an upgrade/trade-in program so that people could trade their old Fitbit in on a new model or device.  I think you would sell more if you did this.  Your Credibility with the public would improve also.

Fitbit should start a trade in program. It would benefit them. They could resale used ones and still get money back. That would please a lot of customers.

I want to register my support for this idea. I have two of the old flex that wont hold a charge for more than a day and I'd love to trade them in on new ones. I dont even need an upgrade, I just dont think they should be throwaways.

I've had my Blaze over a year now and am well pleased with its function and style.  My husband has an Ionic.  I understand (and even applaud) Fitbit's product innovation, I am extremely disappointed you do not offer a trade-in / trade-up program.  What incentive do I have to upgrade to a Fitbit Versa, rather than an Apple Watch?  I'm strongly considering moving from Fitbit to Apple, primarily because you offer absolutely no incentive for customer loyalty.  Please give this sort of program serious consideration.

I think it would be great for fitbit to have an upgrade program. I love my fitbit Charge HR. It works great but I really want to get a fitbit Versa. If I buy a new fitbit I have no idea what to do with my old one since it works like new. I would love to send it in and possibly get a discount on my new Fitbit.

Yes, please create a trade-in program. I have the charge 2 and would love to trade it in for the upcoming charge 3! I already spent the $120 for the charge 2, it would just be a huge waste of money to buy a completely new charge 3 for $150 while my charge 2 sits and collects dusts. Please make a trade-in program!

A buy back/trade in incentive once a year to let people trade in their older Fitbits and then pay the difference for a newer model would be great. Keeping it to once a year would still encourage new purchases the rest of the year but allow those of us who just want to upgrade to do so at a more reasonable price.
I’d love to upgrade but can’t justify paying full price when mine, though several years old, still works. Trading it in and paying the difference I could definitely handle.

Fitbit- this suggestion thread dates back to 2015 and nothing has been done despite tons of comments and three years. Please respond to this thread!

I would love to see an exchange program. I have a Charge 2, but the 3 has some great new upgrades. But I just spent $150 on the 2, I can’t afford to turn around and spend another $150. I think this program would be widely used, by many Fitbit users based on the amount of people who have asked/commented on it.

It would be perfect if Fitbit implemented a trade-in program. I currently have a charge 2 and want to upgrade to charge 3 but cannot justify spending another $150 for a new tracker.

As Fitbit won't offer their long standing users any trade in discount
offers, I'm now saving up to purchase a Garmin for a Christmas gift at
Boxing Day sales. Fitbit have lost me.

Yep - Fitbit lost me to Apple Watch two weeks ago.  I have been a long-time Fitbit user and member and now am transitioning away.  After going through 4 Surges due to band issues, then having to pay full-price for the Ionic with no trade-in even though the Surge support was nil and it has been essentially discontinued, and then having the Versa come out with still no trade-in program, well, why spend the money again with Fitbit? At least Apple is somewhat predictable with their releases and there are more capable smartwatch functions and apps (and I am getting used to the 2 day battery life - charging while showering/driving seems to do the trick).

FYI - not trying to start a Fitbit vs. Apple fight here - just commenting on how I would have like to have seen a little more love coming from Fitbit to help its customers out - if Fitbit is going to act more distant and aloof like Apple, then I figured I might as well go with a closed ecosystem with fully functioning apps (as an iPhone user).  Got to admit - my first watch-based phone conversation was pretty cool (as least my 9-year-old self thought that).

My sentiments exactly. I’m looking at an Apple Watch! C’mon Fitbit, get with the program or lose customers! 😌

Fitbit must provide an upgrade program. I'm using Charge 2, I saw the Charge 3 ads and promos and in love with it.

It would be awesome if I get get some discount on Charge 3 if I return Charge 2 at the time of purchase.

Thanks 🙂

Please consider a customer to upgrade to a device that is more accurate.  A customer for a nonminal fee should be offered an upgrade for a replacement

I just had a live chat with a FitBit asking about an upgrade or trade in program. I think this would be beneficial especially when Fitbits are not cheap. I think having the option to upgrade your tracker with another one and trading in the old one would be awesome, although there would have to be terms and conditions, would want to have a damaged or destroyed FitBit returned. Along with this program I think having the option to purchase refurbished ones at a lower cost would be nice to. I mean if you can buy refurbished phone or computers, than fitbits shouldn't be hard to have the same concept.

Thanks for the response.  I've had a problem with my versa being accurate.  I went around and around with customer service until they were willing to give me a refund.  However, I've decided to continue to try and work with it since I do like the fit bit app and the way it logs data.  Most of my friends have other devices that seem to be more accurate but their not as happy with the data collection.  I would consider an upgrade to a higher end if the device logs accurate data.  I don't need all the other frills, messages. incentives, phone calls, etc.  I want a device that accurately logs data for walking , swimming, and weight training and records calories burned, steps, laps, time, heart rate, and any other health data.  My fit bit works fine so they tell me.  I believe they masked the steps recorded yo the app while swimming but the device still records them.  Also, algorithm for calories burn for swimming seem to been inaccurate.  Should you consider offering me an upgrade I would like an accurate data logger.  Thanks Vinny
