Turn off quick view when I'm sleeping (or at customizable times) aka 'Night Mode'

I love the quick view feature however when I'm sleeping I tend to wave my arms around which activates the display which sometimes wakes me up, especially if my wrist is close to my face.

My fitbit knows when I'm sleeping as it tracks my sleep so how about having the capability to disable quick view automatically whilst I'm sleeping, in fact don't even have it as a selectable option just don't trigger quick view when my fitbit knows I'm sleeping.

Please add brightness based on time of day. The charge keeps waking up while I sleep and therefor waking me up!

Two years later and still no update on this... Please implement a schedule for quick-view so that I can disable it overnight! It is really frustrating when your trying to get to sleep and the screen lights up your face. Quick-view is a fantastic feature that I cannot use as I'm not prepared to manually disable it every evening and re-enable it first thing in the morning.

I begged for this year's ago with my surge. The light at night is my only gripe about this unit, makes my wife crazy and disturbs me.

Please enable user selectable times to disable wrist gesture, can always press the bottom if needed.

The inability to add simple features like this is a bug reason why Fitbit is tanking. Unlike their competitors like Apple, they had the capability to be nimble and quickly respond to user needs. Sadly, Fitbit has missed their window.

I tried turning the quick view off last night and it didn't do the job.  I agree, if the fitbit can track when we are sleeping it ought to be able to enter a sleep mode itself so that it doesn't disturb our sleep!  I just can't wear it to bed at all and wish my husband would stop wearing his because I keep getting blinded in the middle of the night.

I also vote for implementing a screen brightness adjustment feature. It would be very helpful and useful. Thank you!

I'm in the UK and had my Charge HR for 22 months before the strap ripped off and I was immediately offered a replacement which arrived 3 days later. I have never been so impressed with a companies customer service! Now if they could just implement this sleep setting on quick view...

I look forward to dark at night or auto-disable of quickview when sleep time is detected. Bright light when I turn over is very annoying for me, and sometimes for my wife. Thanks! -JJ

I.would.like to have a quick toggle on/off on the Fitbit itself so I can easily turn off Quick View at night. It is a pain to have to turn it off every night and back in in the morning through the app.

The idea of setting an active time for Quick View doesn't work for my ever changing schedule. A quick on/off on the Fitbit menu works best for me.

Yes! Really, I would love an option to where I can tell my fitbit when I normally sleep so that the screen wont light up unless I press the side button (Charge 2). For example, if I tell my fitbit that I usually sleep from 11pm-6am, the screen will not light up on its own after 10:59pm and won't light back up on it's own until 6am when my alarm goes off.

Well I finally figured out how to sleep better with the FitBit. I have had horrible insomnia due to being a family caregiver. When I got the fitbit charge 2  I was thrilled with how well it monitored my sleep. When I got the  software update with more details on how I slept I was equally pleased. However like all of us the light constantly woke me up. So I shut off QuickView completely. Of course we all know that doesn't work. Touch the sheets, blankets or a body part and it lights up the room well enough to find your slippers even though quickview is didabled.  I would guess my Fitbit wakes me up with the lights about four times a night. So here's the big find!!!!!  The Fitbit was so disruptive with my sleep it actually affected my insomnia so bad I was finally up for three straight nights!!! I finally said the heck with FITBIT's inaction on giving us updated software to turn off  quickview ALL NIGHT regardless if we touch it or not.  So two nights ago I took my watch off at bedtime.  The last two nights have been the deepest sleep I have had since I've had the fitbit charge2 ---- that is with NOT wearing it to bed. The FitBits light was so disruptive it even disrupted the insomnia some how. So when I slept without wearing it, my insomnia went away!!!!  So I no longer will be wearing my Fitbit charge2  to bed anymore. Unless I develope insomnia again in which case the Fitbit seems to be really good at irritating your sleep cycle to the point you don't know why you're waking up then after doing that for several days to a month, then take your fit bit off at bedtime and you will sleep like a champ. Needless to say when my Fitbit charge2 dies I will not be replacing it with another Fitbit I will be spending the extra bucks and buying an Apple Watch.   I hope this post will help those who have had insomnia, because the FitBit light actually made the insomnia worse, but then when I took the fit bit off after having worn it for several months I slept like a rock for the first time in months.  It seems like the Fitbit with the constantly going on and off light at night actually disrupted my insomnia pattern, so much so that when I stopped wearing the Fitbit at night the insomnia went away.

By the looks of the months and months of comments and requests for this, FitBit will not release a bug fix or enhancement until the Fitbit Charge 3 comes out (probably in September 2017) and all the more affluent customers will plop down another $150 to get the night time sleep feature that will turn off the light and throw out the FitBit Charge2. This is what is endearing me to increase my ownership of other Apple products.  I find I spend more money on Apple products to buy them, but they last longer, and if something is wrong like this major light issue with FitBit at bedtime, Apple actually sends out a software enhancement to correct it.  They don't leave you with a product that  operates so poorly that it would cause customers to leave the product or brand. If something is broken or not working effectively Apple will send out a software update to fix the problem.  I do not work for Apple. I am a simple consumer with not a lot of money, which is why bought the FitBit over the Apple Watch. Obviously I made the wrong decision. I will now go and spend the extra bucks and get the Apple Watch when I can afford it. This type of behavior with FitBit not fixing a problem is why so many of us  have become Apple customers after being turned off by other brands.   Sadly I actually preferred the fitbit charge to the Apple Watch simply because it was smaller and I really don't need another device on my body beeping at me when I have my iPad and my iPhone already ringing at me with alerts.

Dear one and all,

I have lost track of the number of posts. I also have better things to than go back and count them. But, I have had enough of FitBit's attitude to customers who pay a lot of money but whose opinions obviously count for nothing.

Today I reviewed the competition and bought the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier. My charge2 HR is going in eBay

The only option we have left is to make sure other buyers don't get suckered in. I intend to post Feedback directly on their sales site.

I would like to see the tracker lights turn off when it is tracking sleep. The LED lights are very bright in the middle of the night and have woken me up numerous times. The LED feature should turn off when sleep is being tracked.

I haven't worn my Charge 2 to bed for a month now. It's sleep tracking, for me, was worthless anyway. It apparently thought I was getting up and wandering around the house several times a night.

1705 votes for this feature to date (7/5/2017).  Does FitBit monitor these boards and are they listening.  We need a way to adjust the brightness of the Charge 2 as it is bright enough to wake a person from a good sleep.

It's not clear whether they monitor these boards, but they are very definitely not listening.

I think it is interesting that a moderator took the time to edit a title
and that is the only official feedback this string has received since it
started.

I have not been using my fit bit at night either and have gone to a garmin
for most days.

I'm desperate for this feature. Constantly waking myself up with the light.

Please make this an option.  I don't know how many times I've been woken up in the early morning hours due to my Charge 2 blinding me.  The unfortunate side effect of this is a lot of times I'm unable to go back to sleep.  So please, make this happen.

I agree that the green lights are incredible distracting for sleep, as is the quick view.  Having the option to turn off or dim these two things during night time hours (either scheduled in the fitbit app, or when fitbit detects sleeping) would be a huge quality of life improvement!

Not only quickwiew, but also HR, would be nice to have the option to turn off while sleeping...

Perhaps a timed ON/OFF option, day by day, or even better an option that monitor when i sleep, and then turn off, and on again in the morning.

I do tend to keep quickview and HR off completely, on my BLAZE, and that is a real shame.

But i don´t want to bother turning those things on every morning and off again every night, so the next best thing is to keep them completely turned off.

This is a problem both for HR light and the quickview feature...
