Turn off quick view when I'm sleeping (or at customizable times) aka 'Night Mode'

I love the quick view feature however when I'm sleeping I tend to wave my arms around which activates the display which sometimes wakes me up, especially if my wrist is close to my face.

My fitbit knows when I'm sleeping as it tracks my sleep so how about having the capability to disable quick view automatically whilst I'm sleeping, in fact don't even have it as a selectable option just don't trigger quick view when my fitbit knows I'm sleeping.

Are you aware you can shut off the tapping feature (for clock, steps, etc...) so the bright light/time doesn't turn on by double tapping?

AND you can turn off the Quick View so your time doesn't show up every minute.

These are on your syncing screen.

If you want to see the time, use the button on the side of your Charge HD.

Awesome - was not aware the tap feature could be turned off.

Yes but if you want it on during the day, then you have to access the web site morning and night to make the adjustment. It would be so easy to program this as an additional setting. A slide bar going from 0 to full light with a time range set. So easy to fix......

Glad I could help Woodlands Tom.

I'm not finding an option to turn off the tap feature. Quick View - no problem.

In the list Directly above the "Quick View" you will see something called "Tap Gesture" - click one left click on it and a list of choices will pop up. Hit Off at top of list. Sincerely,

I don't have the "Tap Gesture" setting directly above the "Quick View" setting, on my iPhone app or online.  As far as I know, I'm on the current version of the app.

Love the idea of night mode. It needs to be able to disable Quick view and tap gestures. Then my Charge 2 will be allowed in the bedroom again.

I applied to this community to suggest this as well! I am really happy that someone else already thought of it. Hopefully it will be available soon. 🙂

My charge 2 has been without the ability to see time period info about restless and awake times for a week.  I like the planned sleep stages improvements, but why remove functionality before the improvements are distributed?

Changing the behavior of the display through the host application along the lines of the prior comments on a Night Mode covers some of the usage cases but control should at the very least be able to be accomplished on the device itself. As others observed, there are times (i.e. movies, theater) triggering of the light is disruptive and one may not have access to the app before.

Toggling the lights behavior (disabling activation and subsequent reactivation) on the device could be accomplished through the physical button. Suggestion is that the light behavior should be changed after pressing and holding the button with vibration feedback as is currently done with the stopwatch mode activation.

Seems to be a long standing issue without any real solution from fitbit. The fact that the tracker is (still) lacking this (widely requested) feature will prevent me from buying a charge 2.

I'm spending my money elsewhere..

This has driven me and my partner nuts and I've been back and forth with support until they've given up and told me to post here. The quickview feature just doesn't turn off properly whatever you do. We have a totally blacked out room at night so the screen light coming on woke us both up. At night I now wear my watch upside down on my opposite wrist and have to wrap a blackout mask around my watch, so I can track sleep without being woken from sleep - ridiculous! PLEASE fix this Fitbit, quickview should properly turn off for those of us that find it annoying and useless, and the watch should have options to keep light and screen off during sleep and equally it should be able to stay permanently on during exercise so you can glance at heart rate etc.

The screen of the Charge 2 is impossible to read in sunlight

It desperately needs an option to increase brightness so that it can be used all day outside

The quick view is waking my wife up at night not me. 😞 Until there is a better way I am going to turn it off each night.

I do that, too, but it's a pain to have to use the phone app to do it. I frequently need to sync 2 or 3 times before the change actually takes. We should be able to turn quick mode on and off on the device itself, like we can with the alarm and notifications.

Would love to see the app add the ability to set the time when the quick view is disabled on the Blaze. That way it would not light up every time I move while trying to go to bed.

I completely agree that there needs to be a night/sleep mode to not have quick view activated. I feel like this should be addressed rather soon as there is enough people requesting this at this point and it shouldn't be that much coding.

Yes! Definitely want this feature.

Please add this feature to turn off the light whilst sleeping. My Wife is threatening the spare room.

Please add this feature. It's annoying my Wife. I may have to take it off whilst sleeping until this feature is enabled which would be a shame as monitoring my sleep patterns was one reason to purchase a Fitbit.
