Versa 4 missing crucial functionality, Release the SDK for it.

Some Missing functions:
Disable vibration & Enable sound instead.
Rotate the display for left-hand wear.
Set an alarm. Even basic digital watches have this function.
Use Google Assistant, even though the topic on this forum has been up-voted more than 90% of the topics flagged for consideration.
Release the SDK so community devs can add these funcs

Feedback on this forum is mostly ignored.
Regardless of how many up-votes a requested function receives, fitbit do not seem interested in developing this device any further.
Why not just be honest about that, instead of using this forum to politely ignore feedback.

Release the SDK so that community developers can add the missing functionality and make this device worth having. This "smart watch" by Google has less functionality than a cheap knock-off fitness tracker.

People do not want to use Amazon Alexa, as it stores all of your voice clips from every time you speak to it. People want Google Assistant. "Add Google assistant" has received more up-votes than 90% of the suggestions listed as "for consideration". This proves that the developers do not care about vote count when it comes to adding new functions.

Also... Community devs would make it so that users can Skip music tracks from apps like SoundCloud and Spotifi

Hi @ronjambo - you are right about the missing features but it is all by design to make the watch less useful than it could be so less people buy it or can use it as a smart watch.

It can set a silent alarm but you probably mean set an audible alarm.

Google also disabled additional apps on the Versa 4 and the Sense 2.

Google also removed Google Assistant, amongst other things, from prior models to stop people using it and those features.

@Guy_  well Google are replacing "Google Assistant" with the AI version "Gemini" but it is essentially the same thing, "Google AI Assistant".
I would edit the first post to say Gemini but I wrote Google Assistant and it won't let you edit a post in this forum.

Also, the mods and devs here are probably going to nit-pick and not class the topics asking for Google Assistant as asking for Gemini, but that is what people want.

@ronjambo - normally if they remove Google Assistant they should replace it with a Gemini equivalent but as far as I know that is not planned, nor is it planned for the Versa 4 and Sense 2.

So your request is valid as is.

First Steps

I just upgraded from a Versa 2 to the Versa 4. Going into the purchase I felt like a big girl stepping up into the big leagues.  However, now I feel like I was lied to (new & improved) and back in the Farm League (Versa).  My Versa 2 made way more sense and had way more capabilities than this most current version. My biggest complaint is that if Fitbit is going to take functions away that people are used to using, then just let 3rd party developers create them and let people decide what they want on their watch. I agree with everything everyone has said here so far and just wanted to add my voice of disappointment somewhere in case it counts as another vote against the changes to the Versa 4.
