I published my first app a couple of months ago. Before it was published, I received the following rejection letter:
Thanks for submitting your application to the Fitbit App Gallery. We have reviewed your application and found that it cannot be approved for publication at this time.
Due to the fact that your app name does not fit on the watch screen; we regretfully inform you that we have declined your submission. When renaming your app, please make sure that you also change the name of the submission title, as the two need to be the same. Please consult the following link for more information: https://dev.fitbit.com/legal/app-gallery-guidelines/
Please submit a new version of your app once you are confident that it is ready to be reviewed again.
Best regards,
The Fitbit App Gallery Review team
So I begrudgingly shortened the name from 14 characters ("StepWatch Free") down to 12 ("StepwatchFre") 😕 and the app was accepted and published. I understand why this is needed for the name displayed on the watch, but I do not understand why they wouldn't list the full name of the app in the Apps Gallery. But in the Apps Gallery, there are lots of apps with names as long or longer than mine, such as:
Starbucks Card
Workout Genius
Minimal Heart Rate
Simply Heart Rate
Spotify - Connect & Control
Just wondering how those apps got approved or if there is a way to change the name of my app in the gallery.
