I expect that official 1.1 release will allow to write code for devices without enrolling in Beta. Is that correct and if it is do you guys have something you can share on when that is going to happen?

Correct. You will still need to agree to the developer terms, but there won't be a special firmware required.
We haven't announced the date, but it's soon.

There are no changes between the final developer preview, and today's release. It just unlocks the app gallery.
