I've just purchased the sense 2 after not owning a Fitbit for a long time. I have a google phone and thought it would be good now google have integrated with Fitbit. Very disappointed. Am I to understand we can't answer the calls on the watch. As I've seen it says we can. Or that noise and snore detection is taken off as a feature? Is anyone else as disappointed and is it worth returning and getting the original sense of versa 3?

Calling feature should be released later, but snore and noise detection seems to be not planned as a feature of Sense 2.
I am currently using Sense 1 and decided to return my Sense 2 due to all these features which are not available for Sense 2 like:

Thank you. Seems to have gone backwards not forwards as most next gen devices are meant to. I've used it for a day now so hopefully can return it still. Not happy with it at all.

Yes, fully agree - for a current Sense 1 user it is rather a downgrade than an upgrade. Should have named "Sense Light" or similar from my personal point of view. As the real successor of Sense, I have expected the features of Sense 1 and additional features - which are in fact just 2-3:

I agree. Just upgraded from the sense and I regret it. Really miss google assistant.

I've been debating on getting my.loney back and getting the versa 3. But then I'm also wondering. With google about to start doing the need for Google account in 2o23 to give Fitbit users access to certain things (not stated what) does that mean all the missing features will then come back? Doesn't make any sense otherwise??

One article states. Google accounts on Fitbit will support a number of benefits for Fitbit users, Including a single login for Fitbit and other google services, industry leading account security, centralised privacy controls for Fitbit user data, and more features from Google on Fitbit

Hi everyone.
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about the Sense 2. About your first inquiry, after pairing your watch with an iPhone or Android phone, your watch will let you accept or reject incoming phone calls. To instructions on how to set up notifications, I'd recommend this help article.
On the other hand, the on-wrist calls feature which allows you to take calls from your wrist using the built-in speaker and microphone isn't yet available on the Sense 2 and Versa 4. However, it's coming soon and we'll make sure to provide more information once it's available.
In regards to your other inquiry, currently there are no plans to deploy Google Assistant on Sense 2 or Versa 4. I'm sorry for this inconvenience and we look forward to bringing this feature to future devices. In case you'd like to use Alexa as a voice assistant, see this help article for more details.

That's all well and good to say future devises. But that's not helpful for us now who have paid a premium price for this watch! Are you saying that we will NEVER have that option to use google assistant? Yet it is available on ALL other devises and you're saying FUTURE devices? Come on. How is that fair?

Hi @LizzyFitbit ,
I really appreciate your info and it will be much easier that Fitbit make a clear simple roadmap of features what is include or planned or exclude. I dont really need the exact relase to introsuce but someting like 1, 2 months or more than 6 months
Is there any realistic plan or commitment to enable 3rd party apps on the sense 2 like the previous?

They said there are no plans to bring back support for third party apps. Besides that, they didn't even release an SDK for developers and they disabled WLAN. That means no third party developer even has access to build an app.

Hi there, @Dsptd, @Josean01 and @Robert481.
Thanks for getting back and sharing your thoughts about this situation. I understand where you're coming from about not having Google Assistant and third-party apps available on the Sense 2. In the meantime, please vote for the following ideas posted in the Feature Suggestions board as this is the best way to bring them to our developers attention:
Once again, your feedback is truly appreciated and we'll make sure to keep working and make Fitbit more useful for you.

Hi Lizzy,
How long do we have to
wait for us to be able answer call
on wrist?
why release a product if it is not fully ready yet?

@Josean01Sorry to say it, but Fitbit will never provide any roadmap for planned features. They're good at keeping people guessing, like the cryptic message that users who move their data from their fitbit account to their Google account at some point during 2023 will get more features. They say nothing about which functions. I have a hard time seeing how that doesn't violate the commitments they made to keep Fitbit data sealed away from Google.data.
Personally I never used on wrist calls on my Sense, The phone has to be close to Sense to use it, just as easy to pick up my phone. Snore detection was more a fun thing to try than useful, and it was a battery consumer from hell, and I can understand why it has been taken away.
I think the cEDA is a great feature. In my opinion it is an upgraded Sense fitness tracker, and health tracker, the new stress management is great, but they have taken the "smart" out.
@LizzyFitbit for real "we look forward to bringing this feature to future devices.", You understand it is provocative to those who have spent 300$ on what they expect to be the next generation of a smartwatch, only to find "Smart" is gone? It should have been communicated from the day they announced the new devices. It is understandable people get upset when they realize they have bought a device that turns out to be far from what they expected. "Fitbit by Google" having "less Google" than when it was Fitbit does not make any sense

The device has a USB-debugging feature. So WLAN is technically not needed in order to develop for the Sense 2. The debugging bridge is however currently not operational on consumer devices...

Not up on all the details, but I'd be willing to bet Fitbit being brought into Google mangled some plans & added some complications.

Regading Google wallet the Fitbit Pay on Sense 2 now admit debit or credit cards from different counteies which wasn't possible on previous deviacies.
They accept more banks equal to google wallet.
My country of permanent residence is Spain but as i have other matonaility as well fitbit pay now accept cards from Croatia and Sloveina where i have open accounts.
Thets is improvement.

There is an app menu, otherwise you're quite right.
Fitbit needs to do something. Just because you now have a big company (Google) behind you, doesn't mean you can just stop caring and treat us like crap.

I'm really disappointed as this is the reason I got an upgrade. Customer service just says they don't know when these new features will be available. It's really frustrating as I have a young baby and don't have my phone all the time.
