This has been happening to me too ever since the last Fitbit outage a few weeks ago. I reset the FitBit Sense 2 to factory, and set it up again once the Fitbit outage was resolved. It did a Fitbit update on the device, and since then I have seen this behavior. I will manually start the exercise app for Spinning, and proceed with my workout. After a few min I will check my Fitbit to see my heart zone, but it is only showing the watch face. I will start the exercise on the Fitbit again, and a few min later its back on the watch face screen again. After several times repeating this (4-5 times yesterday), it then stays on the exercise screen until the end of the exercise, but this is incredible annoying and it is causing my workout to be inaccurately recorded.

I have exactly the same issue after factory reset and consequent update. I had to reset the watch as it started to miss my heart rate during sleep. The reset solved it, but now the excercise activities crashes during the workout... Also the EDA does not find any body responses since the reset/update.

My watch went to home screen 5 times while playing tennis. Also there is no way the button was ever touched. HAS ANYONE gotten a response from Fitbit. Also the time of day during exercise is off by exactly 12 hours. Shows pm in am and am in pm. When the is fitbit going to fix any of these issues. It's been almost 4 months since their las firmware update. A $29 amazon watch works better than this.

Unfortunately, no valuable response. My issue went to "higher support" and since that two weeks went by. Their reply: we are trying to solve your issue, please wait.

Apart for the sleep monitoring that for me works like butter, everything else works really poor or don t work in this device.Hr during training is ridicolous always detect 20/30 bmp lower then normal and this make the Who le thing calories burned, azm, recovery…useless.Vibration for the notification is weak also if setted on strong, the unreaded notification feature exist but never worked,Google Wallet still don t work for most Crédit cards, and the funny think is that the last firmware update was 4 months ago…i mean 4 months…cmon Fitbit!!

I've had the same problem, and I think I've worked out what's causing the exercise to stop: it's Bluetooth!l Bluetooth just needs to be on and the phone within range to break the exercise tracking every ten to fifteen minutes. If I turn Bluetooth off or leave my phone behind tracking works fine, and when I turn Bluetooth back on it stops within a minute or so.
For anyone else encountering this, I'm using a Google Pixel 6 Pro with the latest (March 2023) updates. I think it's been failing since the February update, but not sure.
----------------------
I think I have a solution. Turn off Bluetooth on your phone when your doing exercise. I think it's the periodic syncing to your phone that is causing the exercise to stop tracking.

Yes, this works for me too. Also you can turn off your mobile data. This gives the same result. I hope they will roll out an update to fix this...
However, eda responses are also not working for me since February. I get max 1-2 notifications per week and before that it was 2-3 per day. I really do not know if these two problems are related.

Whenever I use exercise mode, after about 15 mins it crashes and goes back to my clockface. My screen on the Sense 2 goes black and says reloading then shows clockface. I have tried alot of troubleshooting and still have this issue.

Hi @sparkles4 ,
Just so we're not repeating work you've already done, what troubleshooting have you done?

I tried shutting down, restarting, factory reset, unpairing and pairing my sense 2. Turning my phone off and on, uninstalling the Fitbit app and installing. Syncing my app and my device. Everything else on my Sense 2 works great.

Have you cleared the Fitbit app cache? Also, have you tried setting up your Sense 2 as a new device on your Fitbit account (as opposed to just unpairing it and re-pairing it to the phone)?

I tried clearing the cache. I will try selecting new device. Wish me luck.
I selected new device and selected Sense 2. The exercise mode lasted 12 min and crashed again. I saw other users that are having the same issue. I hope it's a bug that Fitbit can fix. I contacted them and escalated this issue. When I got this sense 2 a few weeks it worked fine. Started acting up two days ago.
Sorry I sent my first reply without finishing it.
Thank you for your suggestions. I think that's it a Fitbit bug. Mostly likely a software issue on Fitbit's end. I do not think it's a Hardwear problem with my device since many users are having the same issue. My device even had a update yesterday.

I tried putting my sense 2 on my desk. I put it on the side without the button. I set up my exercise. I didn't touch the button at all and let it run. After 15 min it still crashed. I don't think it's a accidental push of the button.

Hi @sparkles4 - interesting test and thanks for posting. The crash seems to be quite a common problem.
Is 15 minutes related to the auto detection setting for that exercise by any chance?

I found a temporary solution from another user concerning exercise crashes. Before you set up your exercise on sense 2 turn off Bluetooth. Then start your exercise. It worked for me. Might to be a sync issue. However, this is a temporary fix until Fitbit fixes the bug
Hope this helps.

@sparkles4 I'm having the same issue. For me my sense2 was tracking fine until I recenty did a factory reset. Did your issue perhaps start after a factory reset?

In regards to my previous message. Keep Bluetooth off during your exercise until you are finished. Make sure you turn Bluetooth back on once finished. Turn off Bluetooth each time you use the exercise mode. It should prevent exercise to crash. Again this is a temporary fix.
