On Friday afternoon I received the update notification about the 210.26 firmware update. It appeared as though the update went smoothly and the watch restarted. I was getting the YouTube Music feature setup when the watch froze. I forced a power off and turned the watch back on. The watch froze at the Fitbit logo. I did several more restarts and each time the Fitbit logo would flash and then freeze on the logo. During one restart I got the dreaded red X. My only option at this point was to do a factory reset during the power cycle. That was successful. The watch booted up fully still with the new firmware, and once I removed the “old watch” from the Fitbit app I was able to get the watch functioning as normal.
I have seen a few posts about issues with the update. I hope my experience is able to help someone else. That being said this is the 2nd time my Fitbit has had an issue after an update. Though, at least, this time I was able to recover the watch. The first time I had an issue with a prior update, it was so bad that Fitbit had to send me a replacement. I know Google has really kneecapped Fitbit, but playing roulette with an update is insanely frustrating to the point where I can not recommend a Fitbit device to anyone.
I will update this if any further issues arise.

Hi @AZ-TX - out of interest, where in the world are you and did you get the app update to 4.23 just before you got the firmware update on your watch? I'm in the UK and still no sign of either 4.23 on my Android phone, or the firmware.

I am in Texas. My Fitbit app is still 4.22 (Pixel 8a). I was actually surprised to see the firmware update on Friday.

Thanks for the advice. We are living in an RV in Michigan where the connection is not great. Took all day to get the update done. I should have just not done it at all. Now my watch is stuck on a Sync With Mobile App screen. I tried to get a new watch face but keep getting an error that it's unable. Did a hard reset add you suggested but no joy. Just writing this to tell people the update may not be worth it. I'm probably going to buy a different watch and be fine with it. Maybe that's what they want? 🙄
