Gaps in recording HR and sleep data while sleeping

(Edited, and reposted, as a moderator requested I not make reference to certain potential actions) . . . Dear Fitbit: What part of the significance of this issue do you not understand? There are still hours-long gaps in recording my heart rate while I sleep. Did you not read that I once credited this device with likely contributing to saving my life because it detected signs of AFib while I was sleeping? And are you still not reading what I’m saying here, that this same device is still now missing BIG gaps of recording time while I sleep? What happens if I miss an episode of AFib while I sleep because you can’t or won’t fix something that previously always worked? Would this be an acceptable situation if it was happening to you or someone in your family? Answer please. This is unacceptable.”

Same problem here. I noticed this happened after the Fitbit app auto update on IPhone 13Pro on 09/26/23. Fitbit needs to acknowledge this problem and provide a fix other than restart or factory reset. Neither “fixes” work.

Agree. This is truly unacceptable. If this situation happened to themselves or someone in their family, would it be ok? What would they say to that family member?

Thanks for posting about the issue. I thought I was the only one! Hopefully more people will see your post and comment as well. I uninstalled the app on my phone and powered off the Fitbit. I reinstalled and signed into my account again. Not sure if this will help, but I’ll come back in a few days to provide an update. Best of luck!

Thank you for the reply, and to you as well! Yes, please do provide an update. I agree: the more that see this issue as important, hopefully Fitbit legitimately listens and takes corrective actions. And I’ll keep saying it: if someone in their family wore a Fitbit and that family member relied on it for cardiac monitoring, and it wasn’t consistently working, would that be ok? I think not.

After the last major redesign, the app is no longer accurately recording my sleep either. The app displays hours of missing recent HR data during that time, which is not missing from my watch. I noticed if I slightly wake up an hour or two before I actually get up and return to sleep, that’s when the app displays I woke up and data between that time is missing in the app. This not only affects my sleep score, but all of my stats. I unpaired and re-paired my Sense 2 to my iPhones Bluetooth with no luck.

I use a Fitbit for medical reasons and as a premium user, this is issue is unsat. If I can no longer rely on the app, I’m going to cancel my subscription and switch to a more reliable product.

Exact same issues! Today I woke up at 645am Fitbit logged my wake up time at 548am. I also noticed the recorded sleep stages deviated highly from my normal pattern over the last seven years of use. The app is clearly  broken! This morning I unpaired my device and did a factory reset on the watch as well as an app reinstall. I doubt this will fix the issue but I will report back after a few days.
