I use to use my fitbit to track my heart rate during intense exercises and always noticed my heart rate continue to increase for as long as 30 sec after a big hard push. After getting a dedicated HRM, I realized I was not getting a heat rate boost, it was just the fitbit's long lag in reporting my heart rate (along with reporting a moving average instead of real time). I have always worn my fitbit, either on the upper forearm or lower bicep when exercise, so the heart rate being wildly off was never an issue.
Now with the 210.26 update, I noticed a few times that the displayed heart rate is on par with my dedicated HRM, and sometimes it updates the heart rate a second before my HRM (although I now have an optical HRM armband instead of the usual chest strap one, so its absolute accuracy and speed is unknown). So is there any change in the heart rate algorithm? Or did they just get rid of the moving average?

@phatbitzr Yes, there is a change. Please see this Help article for more details. This algorithm update went to several models.
