How to always use the phone's gps while running with Fitbit Sense 2?

Hello,

Is it possible to force the Fitbit Sense 2 to always use the phone's GPS during training, such as running or cycling? If so, how can this be done? From what I have read about similar problems as described below, the only solution for me seems to be using the phone's GPS.

Problem: While running, my watch constantly loses the GPS signal. For example, when I start running, the watch picks up the signal for approximately ten seconds. After that, it loses the signal for about five seconds, and this cycle repeats almost continuously. As a result, the tracking data is extremely inaccurate.

Running location: I run in a kind of a park (it is actually an old airfield) located in southern Germany. The area is open, so the GPS signal shouldn't be obstructed by buildings, trees, or other obstacles. My phone consistently shows a strong GPS signal. Using my phone's GPS, I can accurately track my route with Adidas Runtastic, and Google Maps also displays my precise location without any issues.

Devices:

  1. Fitbit Sense 2, Firmware Version 60.20001.210.26, almost fully charged before starting the run.
  2. Honor Play running Android 9.

Additional information:
I have tried restarting both my phone and smartwatch before running, walking for a while, and then starting the run. Unfortunately, this didn't resolve the issue. It seems that the built-in GPS of the Sense 2 cannot maintain a stable connection to the satellites. I also noticed a similar problem in another location during summer, although it was less severe. The signal dropped occasionally but not as frequently as it does now.

Any other guidance on how to resolve this issue, apart from using the phone's GPS, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
