Miserable and can't set up new fitbit

I have been using FitBit since 2015. I have used many different fitbits, mostly because they die after a year. So my recent one died and I ordered a Sense 2. After a week without a fitness tracker, I was very excited to receive my new device. Until I spend an hour and still can not set it up. It keeps telling my app is not updated. I double checked it is not my Android phone.

I am considering sending it all back and going with a different fitness tracker outside of the FitBit family 😞 There is no reason this should be so hard to get sync'd. This is not my first rodeo 😞

Which Android version are you running?

If you have Samsung Phone,.Samsung is blocking access to downloads, gallery, clock faces.....

Try these steps in "Phone Settings" :

  •   Connections → More Connections  → VPN If any VPN is listed, remove it, or set it to "none
  •   Connections → More Connections  → Private DNS Set it to "Automatic", or "None"

I've had this before.  Completely uninstall your Fitbit app off your phone then reinstall. No data will be lost because you've got to sign into your account again.  Hope it works.

Hi @TGMElvis  - old versions of the Fitbit app don't support installing the watch.

So as @JimRea  says, getting the latest version will work, providing your phone is recent enough, preferably Android 10 or later will work.
