Motion sensor greyed out

Hi, I had this issue before but it has returned with the resolution no longer working. This is the original text

"My Sense 2 display has gone to button only and I cant change it.  When I tried to change it to motion and button (via the watch quick settings ) it says “locked for sleep mode but when I go into Quick Modes - sleep mode is off.

I tried via the settings app on my phone but nothing there to help"

The initial solution  was to hold button until it vibrates to restart. Now when I hold the button it goes to settings and does not vibrate .I then continue and it restarts but also comes up with a big red X. After this is completed nothing has changed.

Can someone assist?

When you get the big red X, continue holding in the side button until you get the Fitbit logo and it has completely restarted, even though it is much longer than what is supposed to be the 10 seconds for the restart.  No guarantee that will fix your problem but that is what it takes to do the restart when you get the big red X.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thanks very much for your prompt response.

I noticed it said to turn sleep mode off which fixed the problem.

I will refer to your advice if/when it happens again
