Not tracking sleep

What is the problem with this watch tracking sleep? I switched from Sense to Sense 2 a week ago and haven’t had any sleep recording since. It appears this is a known problem but why isn’t it being addressed? This affects some other functions which is a big reason for purchasing this watch. It does me no good if it doesn’t work. I see others have been complaining about this since last year. When will this be fixed?

I have the same problem exactly. I've tried all the suggestions in the instructions and the watch still will not record sleep information. The Sense 2 replaced my Versa - the battery gave out - which worked perfectly for years.

Welcome to the forums @Kander @credal

Thank you for providing the details regarding the situation with sleep. Sorry to know that you are having this inconvenience.

Please keep in mind that there are some factors that may prevent your tracker from recording your sleep. Please @credal confirm that you have following these steps:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device as described in this help article.
  • If you slept for less than 1 hour for sleep patterns or less than 3 hours for sleep stages.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

If you haven't done so already, please try to complete a restart procedure following the steps listed here.

In addition, please wear your device on your non-dominant hand and monitor it for the next few days.

I've tried all the suggestions - restart, update, wear 2" from
wristbone, tight, loose, left hand, right hand - but the tracking
doesn't happen. I've owned fitbits for years - two Versas that worked
perfectly tracking my sleep. Their batteries both wore down and wouldn't
hold a charge for more than a day so I moved up and bought a Sense 2,
thinking it would be at least as good as the Versa. It's not.  Does
Fitbit have any help for me? Apparently the Sense 2 will not work.

My sense 2 stopped tracking sleep & zone minutes as of Jan 17. Nothing has changed about sleep or the way I wear it.

i also pay for Fitbit + which can’t calculate a readiness score with out this info tracking.

all other Fitbits never had issue. This one stopped working consistently last week.

i also did update & reboot of Fitbit today. Where is my data?

I sent examples of my Sense2 sleep tracking data along with examples from my years of using a Versa to their customer help team. The Versas always gave sleep level information. The Sense 2 has not done that once in the 2 months I've owned it. There is something wrong with either the s/w in the Sense2 or the sensor. Some people have no problem but it just will not work for me. I'm trying to be loyal to fitbit but I'm now thinking I should have bought the new Versa, not the Sense2. I'll see what the customer service team has to say about the new info I sent them.

Same here. I did the watch update and since then have not had any sleep data. I too pay for the premium service which is not worthwhile without sleep data.
