Fitbit app said my device needed to be updated, so I did and now after being fully charged it will complete die within hours. It's on the DIM SCREEN setting, I only wear it, nothing else special, and check texts but I've only received maybe 5 and on a weekday could have 16 and that never drained my battery. This all started with the update and for as much as premium costs, this shouldn't be happening. I've done ALL of the typical troubleshooting on my own AND talked with chat and they said "Here are tips to save your battery" which I already do ALL of them. This is a joke, and they don't care because most are out of warranty. The firmware update caused ALL BATTERY PROBLEMS so FIX IT

thanks @Melissa85 - if a factory reset hasn't fixed it nor turning off the phone's Bluetooth it would confirm that it is most likely a hardware fault that happened coincidentally around the same time as the firmware update. If it is outside warranty unfortunately there is nothing anyone can do to fix it.
However a good test would be to factory reset it and charge it and see how long it lasts without being set up.

Hi @Melissa85 - first with the watch display on, hold the watch button for 10 seconds till the display blanks or it vibrates, release and wait for the logo to appear and it to start.
Then when your battery is charging pull down on the watch face to check the battery level, it may not be charging.
In the new V4 Fitbit App there can be syncing issues, so turn off the phone's Bluetooth and wait for the watch to be fully charged, then see how it goes.
Hopefully it won't need further troubleshooting.
Your post is moved to the Sense 2 forum.

The battery was charging and I do know how to check that, which is why I know my battery went from 99% to under 50% within and hour then 20 minutes go by while waiting forever for a chat customer service person to help me it went down to 29%
I had my device just in the last half hour charged to 100% and its gone down to 80% already. I don't use any battery draining setting and know all the troubleshooting which was confirmed in the chat feature which also did not solve my problem. It's the firmware update, which the app prompted me to update yesterday and now the battery has been a joke every since.

@Melissa85- if you restarted the watch and you get this kind of battery usage there is a hardware fault with the watch, especially if it has got wet.
If it gets hot while charging stop immediately, because with that sort of battery drain there will be excessive current and it can over heat, which is dangerous.
Support may ask you to do a factory reset but it is unlikely to resolve it.

Haven't noticed any heat when charging and while it's supposed to be waterproof to a certain point, I don't get it wet ever. This all LITERALLY started yesterday after the app said there was a firmware update. The chat person was fully unhelpful and their email response was my device is out of warranty, that's it. The firmware literally caused the issue and I asked for it to be removed, factory reset and nothing has fixed it.
Thanks for moving this to Sense 2, I didn't realize that.

My phone is doing the same thing.. it used to last almost a week now it lasts maybe, 8 hrs

My Sense 2 did the same thing. Use to last around 4 days with around 1.5 hr GPS use and 2 hr other exercise use. After upgrade, it did lots of reboot loops, last half a day, then within one week, would last a less than a hour. After charging, it would go from 100%, quickly to 80% then shut off. Charging from dead would start around 70%, quickly jump to 90%, then eventually full.
I sense that after firmware upgrade, it must have caused the Sense 2 to crash and reboot continuously (as I have caught the Sense 2 in boot loop, could have been going on for hours), possibly exhausting the battery to 0%, while still trying to boot with the exhausted battery.

The factory reset did nothing and it forced me to install the update again and still has the same issue. It's going in the trash if fitbit doesn't fix this issue soon. I'm definitely done with fitbit products, probably have to breakdown and buy an android smart watch.
Thank you for taking the time to respond and trying to help troubleshoot for me.

It cycles between displaying the fitbit logo and a blank screen. Sometimes, I can boot it up if I do a hard reset. One of those times, I performed a factory reset, but that only brought it to the point where it has to load the latest firmware, leading me back to square one.
I called Fitbit and after asking a few questions (reset, notification settings, which I did and told them I disabled everything on the Sense 2), they quickly send me a replacement. If your Sense 2 is less than a year old (based on the activation date), then they should warrant it.
