So, I took a shower and wow, all heck broke loose. I have now read the reviews about it turning on in the shower. As of September 2024, is it fixable? And, what happens in the rain?
Are there any models that can have the screen tap disabled? This seems like a deal killer for me.

Hi @eh6794 I've never showered with any of my Fitbit models, but used that time to charge them. Learn about water lock

@eh6794 some tracker models (Charge 5, 6, Luxe) have a water lock but it's not much use if you want to track exercise using an exercise app. Fitbit smartwatches never had a water lock (and that would be useless for the same reason, too). In the rain, there is a problem. I live in a rainy area and when I had Sense 2, the screen was way too sensitive to water. It may navigate the UI on its own (as in the shower) and even pause/stop tracking (happened to me). Also, when the screen is covered with a sleeve, once the sleeve gets wet things start to go wrong, too. I have the same problem with the first Sense. Charge 6 was a little more resistant to it (but not fully). There is no solution.
The water lock implemented on some Fitbit products works strange way. Basically, you enable it from the settings, and then the tracker goes back to the clock face but you're unable to control it until you turn off the water lock. This means you either rely on automatic exercise recognition (because you can't open the exercise app to select an exercise to track) or if you want to track exercise manually, you can't use the water lock. Hence, I find it useless (I had it on Charge 6). I've seen watches with properly implemented water lock (like Galaxy watches) but that simple solution never occurred to Fitbit for some reason.
