Fitbit started a software update and then broke the hardware watch. Red X and now Fitbit watch will not work.
The watch is in great condition.
No solution offered but just asked to buy a new watch at a small discount !! Fitbit products are not what they used to be.
How can you trust Fitbit when they mess up your expensive watch with their software updates. It time for our family to leave Fitbit after 10 years of use.
Moderator edit: clarified subject.

I have seen the red x (on my Ionic) sometimes, if you had a credit card on the watch before it was factory reset. For some reason Google decided to do force reset if you were to get the firmware update but didn't upgrade. This leaves secure information on the watch which their factory reset doesn't handle well. I have not seen this on my Sense, but my watch doesn't seem to have the bad battery that caused this whole mess. YMMV
FYI this is the Sense 1 forum, not Sense 2, not sure if this applies to your watch as I don't have a Sense 2.
