Sense 2...not as good as sense.

This isn't a plea for help.  Im hoping to reach prospective shoppers.

I've owned 4 fitbits.

An early generation watch that was mostly a step counter.

A later generation about 7 years ago that had GPS and hr the surge.  Great watch.

A sense original which was great as it had an ecg and I developed afib.  But only lasted 18 months (not as water proof as it advertised) outside of the life being short it was great best I've had.

A sense 2 which is a hunk of junk

1. Hr.  It loses my hr all the time mid exercise during heavy sweating.  Or becomes wildly inaccurate during same time.  It seems to be sweat related but fit is in the name so pretty lousy excuse.

2.  Can't accurately track sleep.  Have a great night sleep of 6 or 7 hours and it only detected 2 hours.  Had a horrible night sleep of 3 hours and it only detected 2 hours.

3.  Resting hr inaccurate.  Compared to sense 1...about 20% higher.

4.  Sensitive ecg app...I have afib and its rather important right now I can accurately report occurrences so I can let Dr know how effective my ablation was.  It takes 4 or 5 tries of perfect stillness to get a reading.  Old watch worked first try each time.  Since afib can cause symptoms that make it hard to hold perfectly still...it's a counterproductive failure point.

Its not a fitness monitor anymore.  It's a overpriced digital watch.

I don't know if this is a reflection of the Google take over.  Historical experience with products was an improvement on each purchase.  My only criticism was sense 1 short life.  I'm sure I contributed. Sense 1 had a swim track feature and it saw chlorine, fresh water lakes, saltwater.  Each time getting rinses but that was within advertised tolerance.  I found it notable that sense 2 is water resistant at best.

Do not recommend.

I am on my 5th Fitbit and sad to say, this will be the last one. I loved my previous Sense but it died on New Years Day at the start line of a race....it should have been immediate karma. I bought a Versa on accident (I wasn't sure what I had previously) and returned it for a Sense 2. In addition to not really doing much of what I need it for, it stops constantly DURING A RUN. I shouldn't have to go online and look at the app to check my distance. And not having music? I'm not even sure what the purpose of this is anymore aside from an expensive pedometer.

I couldn't agree more- always losing GPS and fails to accurately track distances- If I need accuracy I use starve, I think the sense 2 is a piece of junk. Can't use treadmill as a activity with my phone no matter how many updates I try, I plan to go back to my old fitbit until I upgrade to a better option for activity tracking. I thought it was just this unit until I read all the same un addressed problem in the forum..come on fitbit get it together
