Sense 2 sleep

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’ve recently changed from a surge to a sense 2 and noticed that the sleep recorded on my sense 2 is far greater than what I had on my surge. It appears that the sense 2 says I’m asleep, but I know I’ve been awake, the surge is far superior than the sense to sleeping Profile . Has anyone else come across this or can point me in the right direction to get it rectified.

Welcome to the forums @Windipops.

Thank you for sharing the inquiry regarding sleep and for letting us know that difference.

As @DramaQueenDiva suggested, you can edit your sleep logs following the steps listed in this article: How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?

All Fitbit devices work with 'autodetection' and it's based on your movement. When you haven’t moved for about an hour, your device assumes that you’re asleep.

Hi,
Thank you for your suggestion but what is the point of that? My surge recorded my sleep very accurately with my periods of sleep and awake( I’m not a great sleeper). The sense 2 records pretty much when I’m lying down in bed which isn’t the same thing. I don’t know my sleep so how can I amend it. My surge was much older than the sense 2 but the technology seems better.

Sandra

@Windipops   I don't think you'll be able to rectify this.  The Surge and the Sense 2 have very different hardware and software.  The Surge gives sleep patterns and they are derived from your wrist movements.  The Sense 2 gives sleep stages.  Sleep stage calculation includes your heart rate and breathing patterns, in addition to wrist movements.  Fitbit keeps refining the sleep stage algorithms.  I've seen other posts where users write that they get different results after upgrading their devices.

Fitbit breaks down your sleep stages into awake, light, REM, and deep.  Sleep is measured using brain waves.  There is a Stage 1, non-REM sleep stage where you are aware of your surroundings.  This might explain why you feel awake, but your Sense 2 records sleep.

Well I know I was awake at 5am and it recorded that I was still asleep until I got up at 5.40am. If I stay in bed for 12 hours awake and watching tv it will probably say that I’m asleep!
