Sense 2 sync issues

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Sense 2 hasn't synced for a week now. Tried everything. Currently works as a step counter, nothing more...

I had a Charge 3 before this one, same happened with that after a while. Thought upgrading to Sense 2 will be better.

These smart watches are not cheap, but the quality is the same as buying something for £30.

It's an absolute disgrace. Don't think I'll be buying any Fitbit product ever again.

Please do not post the typical answer: "Good to see that you posted, please try these steps:... " They don't work. Just please read the numerous posts listing the same syncing issues over and over again.

The problem is with the watch.

Hi @szefike - on the off chance did you investigate Sense 2 Firmware Update 194.61 as it has known issues.

Hi @Guy_ , thanks for your reply. I would, but there is no update available. Current version is 184.52, but I have no "pink button" to update. Fitbit is saying under the new firmware notes: "If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!". That was 2 months ago...

Today I managed to sync, but no update button.

@szefike - you are lucky to be on 184.52, that has less issues as you can see.

What you can try with your firmware if it happens again is Logout of the Fitbit App and swipe off the active window and in Android clear the storage cache and force stop it and then restart the phone.

Make sure there are no other devices running the Fitbit App switched on.

Restart the watch by holding the button for 10 seconds till it vibrates and the logo appears and wait for it to start.

Login and wait for any pair, link or Fixit prompts and sync.

Because of problems the newer firmware has probably been held back.

Hi @Guy_  Thanks again for the response. Really appreciated. The steps you list probably work (I tried so many things, including steps you mention, something worked, as it synced today), but tbh, nowhere near ideal. As said in my original post, I'd expect these sort of workarounds from a £30 cheap smart watch, not from a nearly 10x more expensive Fitbit device.

Hearing that the newer firmware is even buggier, doesn't increase my confidence.

Hoping, one day, before I lose my last bit of faith in my Sense 2, a firmware comes out, that does what it supposed to do.

Same issue and disappointed.  Damaged my Sense 1 which I liked and replaced it with a Sense 2.  If the sync issue isn’t resolved soon, sending it back.

I'm too late sending mine back... I put it down for a few weeks, will pick it up later and hope that there will be an update.

Good luck with yours..

@szefike- if the watch is faulty it can still probably be replaced under warranty, but most often it is not the watch that is the problem but some environmental issue with the phone. A firmware update won't fix that.

Right.... So everyone complaining about the sync issues is having an issue with the phone, not the watch...  If it was only me, I'd get it. But no...

@szefike- for info, as mentioned people who installed the firmware update may now have sync problems - see Sense 2 Firmware Update 194.61 example so it is important to make the distinction. Also a firmware update not specifically addressing sync problems won't help either and may in fact just make things worse.
