Sense 2 vs Charge 5 heart rate monitor

I have been using the Charge 5 for over a year and I have just upgraded to the Sense 2. I have noticed the step count and heart monitor on the Sense 2 is low. On a workout I have been doing for over 3 months same workout I used the Sense 2 and the total calories are under by almost 200k. Does it mean I have to calibrate it or was the charge 5 over calculating.

I think a lot of people consider the Charge 5 to have a better HRM than the Sense 2. It seems as though the Sense 2 inherited some of the original Sense's HR issues. I have compared the Sense 2 to a chest strap and it wasn't awful, just very hit and miss. Which makes me believe wrist placement is very important to get a good reading with the Sense 2. I haven't got around to comparing the Charge 5 to a chest strap yet, but other people's testing seems to place it more favorably than the Sense 2.

@V10CTA calories depend in heart rate and Sense 2 is known for inaccurate HR readings during workouts. However, that doesn't mean Charge 5 is accurate (I doubt it is). The only way to compare accuracy would be to use a reference device like chest strap. The algorthm estimating calories may have changed between different models (we don't know, we won't know). Still, it's just estimates. When you get a new device you need to learn to read it for your individual needs especially when metric is only an estimate. Calories still depend on HR and if HR isn't accurate the estimate for calories will be off.
