Sense 2 won't show steps left on Hourly Activity tile

So far, I enjoy the Sense 2. I had an Ionic for years and am trying to find related items.

On the Sense 2, I found the Hourly Activity display. But I cannot find the steps per hours display.

Does the Sense 2 have the Steps per Hour? It is nice to know how many steps are still needed 🙂

Tnx

It looks like they fixed this in the last day or so. I can't tell exactly when, but when I received the device, it was missing. You would go to the "Today" app (Today's stats tile, then tap to load the Today app) and it would show X of Y hours, but would not show the steps still needed this hour. This morning I checked and it is now showing the steps taken and needed to get to the 250 for the current hour. Both great that it is fixed and dismaying that there is no notice of any update / change made (no firmware update, etc.) so it was sneaked in as dribbleware with no notice. But today mine is showing this finally:

Great and thanks!

Mine is not showing that (yet) but there is hope. I power cycled too but no update.

My system version is 60.200001.169.418.

My sense 2 doesn't show how many steps remain for the hourly goal.  This is the one to achieve 250 steps per hour.  I called support and they opened a case but haven't heard anything back.  Probably going to return this for versa 4.

@Patfromcheek   Switching to the Versa 4 won't help.  It has the same operating system, minus the Sense 2 hardware and features.  A different user posted that they are seeing the number of remaining steps, new since yesterday.  They felt it was from a "trickle down" update rather than a full firmware update.  You might want to wait a few more days before you decide.

I'm retracting my statement that it was fixed. I based it on seeing it work once and assumed it was not just flaky. Unfortunately it IS just flaky. I've now seen it work about 4 times and not work well over 100 times. Every once in a while the stars line up and it shows correctly. Most of the time it does not work.

It seems this is another backwards step from older devices. On the Versa 3 it shows remaining steps to reach the 250 anytime within the hour. On the Sense 2 it on shows this from the remaining 10 mins. Doesn't even show in the app.

Anyone else has this yet? @JerryHam  I feel like you are the only one so far who seems to have received this feature in a very backwards way haha! I hope it shows up soon for others...maybe it's being sent out in increments to debug... but like this product isnt in alpha or Beta its officially launched!

But for you it shows up in the Today App still ? or no longer ? cuz for everyone else it's just not there at all XD

It seems that only one person has what some of us are asking for. Check my post, <"Steps this hour" display>, as there is a picture. I tried forcing an update etc but no changes and no obvious clock face or other setting either. I receive the notification at the hour:50 that I need tbd steps to go.

Maybe someday!! 🙂

Just got my Sense 2 up and sort-of running and am frustrated by this same issue. Why have an hourly steps feature if you can’t see how many steps you have left?? FitBit, are you listening - need a solution.

@Cragjock

How did you try to force an update? The Android Authority reviewer had a Sense 2 that had a different Firmware.

No, I retracted my comment about it being fixed (it was my photo). It turns out it is a BAD design. It normally will not show the steps needed. When you are within 10 minutes of the hour (basically after it has already popped up with x steps still needed) it will then - for those 10 minutes - show the steps needed. For the other 50 minutes of the hour it will not show them. Designed by someone who never used the function clearly.

I just returned it and went back to versa 3

In the Fitbit community for new features is:

Add how many steps are left on Hourly Activity til... - Fitbit Community

We need to voice our opinion there too!

Hello, wondering if you’re still seeing the steps-left” detail? I can’t find this info anywhere in the app or watch, nor see a setting to add the widget

Well, I am temporarily going back to my Ionic until my Sense 2 gets some upgrades.

The heartrate BPM is way off as I wear a medical grade heart rate monitor to compare! And the heart icon does not pulse like other Fitbit watches.

The remaining steps per hour is very valuable to me. A MUST HAVE.

Also, on my Sense 2, i cannot disable or turn off the auto exercise detect too even though in the app, it shows off.

To Fitbit, bring on the Sense 2 upgrades!

@Cragjock I turned off all of my auto exercise detect in the phone app.

I hadn't noticed an issue with the steps left until I looked today after reading this post. First, you must be in the range of hours set in the phone app. I had just entered my range today. I usually takes a dozen steps before my step count starts showing. twice that and the steps left still said 0 of 8 hr. When I next looked it showed 1 of 8 hr. Its not a feature I use often, yet I do use it. I have noticed that some items appear to have a lag before showing actual data. It looks to me like it might be one of the new release issues. If my Sense hadn't lost its water resistance, I would have waited 6 months for fixed to be found and applied. as it is, it works well enough for me now. It mostly a matter of locating where things are. some things require setup on both the phone app and the Sense 2.

I verified today that I don't see the hourly steps remaining during the first 50 minutes of each hour.

Has this been fixed yet? Mine still doesn't show the steps left for the hour.

I called Support yesterday on this and they told me that the Hourly Steps Tile is not available on Sense 2 or Versa 4.  He suggested I submit a request to add this tile in the Feature Request Community so I did that. I also do not receive the reminders to move when I have not hit 250 steps 10 minutes prior to the new hour starting.  No rhyme or reason I have found for this as I have synced, ensured reminders are turned on in app, have ensured they show in the online site and still shows randomly but not continuously.  I don't want a replica of my Pixel 6 on my wrist but I want the best of Fitbit.  Sadly it seems like Google bought Fitbit to ruin it as opposed to incorporating it into their phones/products and the latest two versions of the Fitbit are poor at best.  This is my third Fitbit and after having it for a couple days I am considering returning it and going back to prior model until Google gets their act together.
