I just got a marketing email from Fitbit stating the Sense 2 and Versa 4 are on sale. $100 off. So $200 for the Sense 2 (I paid $300 on presale)!!
Furthermore, there’s an Upgrade Now link that takes you to the Pixel watch!
I was withholding judgement but now am seriously pissed.
Does a paste of a picture work here?

@rbittman mine will be picked up and sent back to Amazon on Monday. Funny thing is that this watch really feels like my old Charge 2 but more expensive and in "smartwatch case". In the retrospect, there's not much I can do with it and all the passive features I already have in the original Sense.

@@t.parker I’m sending mine back today. I’ll use my old Versa 3 and perhaps simultaneously try the new Apple SE2. The Sense2 definitely did not deliver $300 of new goodness to my life.

I was checking my credit card and the refund was there $119.00- 😁 I was going to return it - but now with the refund I don't feel so bad about keeping it.

Why weren't you refunded the entire price? I don't understand.

I did not return it - they gave me a price match to the $199.

Oh, that's right. Thanks for reminding me. Glad you got the price match. When I tried to do that, they told me I could only return it for the full amount. I argued, and they said they'd push it up the chain, but I never received an email. Very poor marketing policy.

I have read so many bad reviews here re the Sense 2. I almost preordered but decided to wait for reviews. So glad I waited. Definitely going to buy the Apple Watch 8 now. Have been with Fitbit since Charge 3 and then Sense 1. No more. Bye Fitbit!

The Sense 1 is still a very good smart watch. I dropped back to my Versa 3, which is almost as good. It is unfortunate that Fitbit released this nerfed version of those fine smart watches. I also have ordered an Apple watch (the SE2, in my case).

I am still using my Sense 1 with a cracked screen (out of warranty no help) but a good screen saver has kept it intact. It has been a great watch. I was soooo looking fwd to the Sense 2, but with an iPhone and iPad, I think the apple watch 8 will be a better partner especially since they now have crash protection and ways to reduce battery drain (youtube video tips) not to mention what looks like pretty good sleep tracking. I’m jumping ship from Fitbit after all these years. No turning back.

I jumped ship as well. I will wear both for awhile, to compare, because I'm a data nerd. But, I watched the videos from the Quantified Scientist, and now that Apple has greatly improved their sleep tracking, which used to be really deficient, I feel comfortable to make the switch. I am NOT thrilled with the poor battery life of the Apple watches. Fitbit lasts several days, versus Apple lasts 18 hrs at best, unless you start turning vital things off. I will still use the Fitbit on multiday hikes, but for day to day use, the Apple watch seems best. It is my assumption that the much better HR tracking on the Apple products means they're sampling more often, which translates to poorer battery life. The Fitbit has mediocre HR tracking (which I put up with for years), and that results in longer battery life.

Question a bit off course, but are you on ios 16 with your iphone 12? I have the 11 ProMax on ios 15.7 but the apple 8 requires ios 16 and I’m seeing comments about bugs being ironed out in that release (now at 16.0.3) so am waiting a bit. Just curious. Thx!

Yes, I'm on the iphone 12 mini with iOS 16. I am now downloading the newest version (16.1). I had no problems with 16.0.3.

Thanks so much for the reference to Quantified Scientist - wow, incredibly detailed review! I subscribed. As of yesterday, I’m now on ios 16.1 so ordered new apple watch 8 (which requires 16), which will be here in a few days (tracking says Halloween)! More than ready to give up Sense 1 with cracked screen!
