Prior to which ever update or Google change made, I had always been able to manually enter my ocean swims in yards. Since which ever change made by Google (be it app or firmware on device), yards are removed and only miles are an option to manually record. This would be acceptable if entering fraction of miles was possible, i.e. .8 mile or 1.2 mile etc, however this is not available either.
I tried chatting and speaking with support on this, and after much holding and waiting, seems support isa clueless. Was not able to addeess this in any way. They werent aware, unknowlagable to even entering manual swims, etc.
As all fitbit ocean, lake, open water swimmers know, the platform only counts laps, linear swims can not be measured or tracked with any fitbit device. Also is this a pervasive problem with users? How do we get fitbit/google to resume yardage for manual entries of swims?

It is odd that it had always been available prior to this current app. I have been a fitbit owner from pretty much the beginning of fitbit. Would be interesting to hear the why's and reasons fitbit/Google decided after many years of entering swim activities with yards, to wipe that out and only have whole mile only. Why not just remove the entire ability to manually add swim workout?

Hi @tribri - the new V4 Fitbit App has been designed that way, Exercise times are rounded to minutes etc.
Unfortunately Fitbit don't officially allow you to install the previous V3 version of the Fitbit App.
You can see more fully the issues and post in "The redesigned Fitbit app is rolling out!" topic in the appropriate iOS or Android app forums along with the other unhappy users.

Was really looking for a fix/answer, not a redirection of more frustration.... which likely will continue to push me further from this fitbit platform towards something more friendly to my desires

@tribri at the moment this isn't possible and nobody knows when or if it will be addressed. If you need to track swimming, Fitbit is not a solution.

Swimmers, please go to the product feedback board, find this post "Log swim distance in yards (or meters) not miles" and please "Like" it. We need this fixed and need to show fitbit/Google what they are doing to destroy this app
