Yesterday I replaced my old Sense with a new Sense 2. My problem is that the Sense 2 will only charge to 99% ( My old Sense did this too) no matter how long I leave it charging. I have read literally dozens of posts from people with the same problem. I have tried all the resolutions, cleaning/swapping the ports, restarting the device and many more to no avail. NOBODY seems to have ever had a workable solution and only get answers telling them to try the things I have said above. My question is this. I would like to know if this is a recognised but harmless problem with Fitbit's or is it perfectly normal. If it is perfectly normal then there is no need to worry on the other hand if it is not normal despite literally dozens of people with the same problem then what do we do, keep getting a refund until we find one that does charge to 100%?

Hi @Daisi12 - a new watch should easily charge to 100% in less than 2 hours.
Later the last 1 or 2% can take 15 minutes or more and is probably not worth trying to get 100% because you can wear the watch during that time.
If it is new and not working as it should you may be able to get a refund as Fitbit have a 45 day refund policy or possibly authorised dealers too, some stores provide 14 to 30 day refunds.

Get an Apple watch instead. Their customer service went downhill and there has been so many issues lately that they can't seem to do anything about it. Depending on where you live, they MIGHT (very slight chance) have service, but I doubt it. I had battery issues with my 4-month-old Sense 2 last year and guess what, now it's completely useless (a 14 months old device lol). They walked me through the troubleshooting with resetting it and now I'm stuck in a forever loop. The thing doesn't start at all, and because it's past their '12 month warranty' they offered a 35% discount (which I declined), because I'm not buying a device only to have it stop working with less than 2 years again. No, I don't work for Apple and am not receiving anything to post this. This is just my own experience as a very frustrated customer, a half dozen emails left with no answer whatsoever, only the help of users in this forum. The only 'solution' to my problem was them offering that ridiculous 35% discount.

Hi thank you for your reply. What I really want to know is being as this problem is occurring for many people over several years seemingly without a resolution is this.
1. Does Fitbit/Google recognise this as an unsolvable issue?
2. Does this issue in any affect the performance of have a detrimental affect on the life of the battery or the watch.
3. There seems little point in replacing the Sense 2 as the next one is more than likely to have the same problem i.e. stuck at 99%. As I said I replaced my older Sense with this Sense 2 which had the same problem only charging to 99%. I had it for two years and it never charged above 99%.
I am satisfied with the Sense 2 in every other way and when it charges up to 99% it does seem to hold the charge, losing only 15% with normal use in 24 hours and charges up quickly but I have just forked out £219 so I want some reassurance on this issue. Thanks.

@Daisi12 - have you tried using a different power source (a PC) and charge cable because it can happen on some older watches and in some cases but it is not normally the case for it to stop at 99% on a new watch.
Charging to even 95% won't seriously affect the lifetime of a lithium battery which will naturally deteriorate over time, the worst that that can happen if the watch is otherwise fine is you loose around 45 minutes autonomy over 6 days. It's not worth replacing for that.
It seems you are getting normally autonomy now and following tips posted you should be able to maintain that or even improve on it.
If you are not happy with that, as mentioned, you may be able to get a refund on the watch but possiblly not the insurance or premium if already paid.

@Daisi12 - if you want to see more about charging I know SimpleClockPro will give you lots of information on charging progress, even tell you when it will be fully charged normally.
It records charging sessions in fine detail and shows the battery autonomy.
