Step count is consistently higher on my device than in the app

My step count is consistently higher on my device than in the app for the last 3 to 4 months. I look at it in the evening, oh I hit my goal and then in the morning on the app, I'm way below, by several thousand steps to what I viewed on the device the previous night.

I have uninstalled and updated app on my S22 phone. I have powered both devices off to reset anything. I've turned Bluetooth on and off. Any suggestions to resolve would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Thank you for providing the information regarding the difficulty that you are experiencing with your Sense 2.

Please, make sure that your device is syncing properly with the Fitbit app: How do Fitbit devices sync their data?

In addition, please confirm if you are using Mobile track. It is a service that allows you to count steps using your phone even if you forget to wear your Fitbit. You can "unpair" Mobile Track from your account.  On your Fitbit app go to the upper left corner, on the phone and device icon. Click on your phone icon and on the 3 dots and choose "unpair".

Thank you for your reply. I have "unpaired" Mobile Track and will see if that changes the count in the morning. I appreciate the direction.
