Why is ECG banned in some EU countries?

Hi, I just bought a sense 2 in the UK whilst visiting some family. I noticed on my way home though Amsterdam -> Finland there is no ECG app, even though I was using it in the UK.

After googling, I see that it is only allowed in certain countries. Why is this? Is it because ECG carries a health risk or something?

It's because the feature isn't signed off by local health authorities. If a feature is called ECG it is often seen as "for medical purposes" and requires signing off. For that reason, chest straps that use the same tech as ECG are never called ECG straps 🤷 Being part of EU doesn't matter as local laws are above EU directives.

@nitonbi1   The ECG app is a medically regulated feature.  Users can print their results and it is a medical quality ECG trace.  It needed approval from the CDC to be released in the US.  It needs approval from the equivalent regulatory body in Finland.  The Irregular Rhythm Notifications are also medically regulated and won't work in Finland.
