Afib continuous detection

If Fitbit is reading this, please tell us when this feature is available and how to enable it.  I am in the US, and I have the latest firmware, and when I go to Discover--Assessments, there is no option to enable notifications for the Afib detection.  This roll out is a disaster - no communication from Fitbit, just overall bad consumer experience.  I chatted with Fibit last night, and after 20 minutes of mostly waiting (and sharing a screen shot) the person said they would have to email me (yes email) when they were able to have a higher level of service get me an answer.  In other words, this person helping me had no answer. And, still no email.  Nothing.  If the answer is "wait" then tell us how long. Don't put out a press release that all the press picks up on and reports, as if this is available ubiquitously in the US,  but give the users no information on timing and process.

Fitbit rolls out new features by "groups" of users over time. The actual algorithm is not published but it could take several months before you get the word to do a firmware update via the fitbit app.  Doing a manual update before you get notified doesn't guarantee you get the latest with the new feature.

Google announced earlier this month that its Fitbit was granted clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration for its atrial fibrillation detection algorithm. Now, Fitbit owners should be on the lookout for the new feature.

In the coming weeks, the algorithm will be rolling out across nine Fitbit devices, Google confirmed. Charge 5, Versa 3, Sense, Versa 2, Charge 4, Charge 3, Luxe, Inspire 2 and Versa Lite are all compatible with the algorithm which can point to signs of AFib

thanks, but... Why doesn't fitbit make this clear in any of the documention of this change?  And why didn't fitbit give me this answer when I chatted last night.  I understand you provided a canned response. Would be good for the public info given by fibit to mention this.  All it says is that it is avail in the US, and Sense users need a certain firmware release or higher, which I have. And it says where to go to activate these notifications.  Nothing is said about waiting.  I still think this hasn't been adequately addressed.

My response was not canned. I am a user just like you who has learned over the years that fitbit customer service is good for telling you how to reset your device and nothing else. Over those years, I have leaned how they provide updates almost never providing what they do. I googled the afib after reading your post because I had no idea it was thought of at all. I come to the community because it’s really the only place to get information such as this Customer Service provides zip and don’t seem to care about how frustrating it is dealing with them.

The help doc explains how to turn this feature on. While I don't see t is option yet, Saturday I met someone with a charge 5 and this option enabled.

This page still only talks about the on demand ECG to test for AFIB

BTW: The continuous detection will only work during sleep and while the body is still

Thanks for sending, but I knew this info. Issue is it's not available on by Sense despite having the right firmware.  I have no choice but to wait.  But thank you.

You'll get a notification in your Fitbit app on your phone about Irregular heartbeat detection. Click the message and it takes you to a page with a button to start update and it's supposed to work. Ironically I got the message even though I'm in Canada but a US citizen, but when I clicked update. Nothing happened, possibly due to it not being happy with my ip address or location information so I'm back to square one.

I just received notification.

BTW this feature is processed in the cloud services, after a sync, and is not live on the tracker.

So why the roll out? Probably to monitor for any unforeseen conflictd/issues
