Answering calls with Sense go right to the phone

Before anyone tells me these things:

I've already done everything in troubleshooting, reset the phone, reset the watch, reconnected the watch, made sure sense controls connected, made sure the app was running in the background, etc.

Im using a Razer Phone 2 with android 9

It will not upgrade to Andoroid 10 or higher because the manufacturer has not compiled the upgrade, and I can't just click a button to update it like the moderators/fitbit staff seem to think I can.

When I did a test the other day, I was able to answer a call from the watch itself using the built in MIC and speaker. However this morning, I missed an important medical call because when I hit "answer", it instead used the microphone and speaker on the phone, but still gave me all the volume buttons, end call, dial pad buttons, etc on the watch, as if the watch was handling it.

I already checked and no I did not hit the button on the watch screen to send the call to the phone.

Im also being told by other fitbit forum users you can use google assistant to have the watch make outbound calls for you, and use the watch mic to and speaker to talk to people during those outbound calls. I understand the watch originally did not have this feature, but I cannot figure out how to make it work now that it has apparently been made available. Also, if the watch has a dialpad to make selections for routing and etc, why cant this be used to dial calls too? if it's a concern of the dial pad being too small for reliable use, why doesn't the sense have an option to add favorite phone numbers as tiles you can swipe through and touch to call?

It really feels like this watch was not thought completely through and shipped half-finished, which seems about right with the reports I'm reading that Google bought fitbit around the Sense release window, and said they were going to make all fitbit watches run on Wear OS. I guess they abandoned finishing the half finished features because they didn't want to do more than the minimum for an OS getting phased out on the next hardware release?
