Hi Laura - frustrating!

Please check - https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1979.htm (inclding troubleshootng)

If that does not help please try these suggestions from @LizzyFitbit

  1. Remove the Sense from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app. For iOS devices, see this article.
  3. Restart your watch.
  4. On your phone's settings, tap Notifications and make sure:
Show Previews is set to Always or When Unlocked for Fitbit, Phone, Messages, Calendar and any other preferred app.
There is a check mark below Notifications Center.
  5. Open the Fitbit app and pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.
  6. Tap your profile picture > Sense > Notifications and test your watch.

Hopefully this will help.
