Band not releasing on one side

I am now concerned that my $350 watch is broken at not even a month old. I can not get it to release the band on one side at all. I have broken all my nails and it still will not come loose. Help! I don't know what to do or if I am out of luck and my watch is broken

Try wiggling the band from side to side while pulling up on the little release mechanism.
