Battery drain, won't sync, can't see clockface

I've had the Fitbit Sense for a few months now and generally haven't had any problems with it until this morning.  Suddenly, I've had three issues occur simultaneously.  I don't know if they're related, or if I was just unlucky.

Typically, my battery is at 80-83% in the morning (I have SpO2 monitoring on, so this is normal for me), and I charge it up while showering so it goes back to 98-100% for the day.  This morning, the battery was at 46% (it was fully charged yesterday).  I also noticed that the clock wasn't showing.  I haven't changed the clockface in months (it's usually on Spectrum).

Playing around with it some more, I find that i can swipe left or right and get the different utility and app icons.  However, I can't launch any of them.  For example, when I tap the settings icon, it shows me the loading screen for a few seconds, then just goes back to the list of icons.

I also can't sync the watch (it synced fine yesterday).  I see that there are other comments about the sync not working.  I have an iPhone X, iOS version 14.3 (I did not install the 14.4 update yet), and have the latest Fitbit app from a month ago.  So, nothing should have changed, yet the sync doesn't work, battery drained fast, and clockface won't display.

Incidentally, if I turn on the "always on" display, then eventually it does show just the clock.  So, the watch is working, but it's not..."working" if that makes sense.

Update:  A reset of the sense seems to have fixed it, but still curious that this would have happened in the first place.

I think it's just due to the watch freezing, @rmadisonwi.  Like anything else with technology, the watch is prone to freezing.  You did the right thing by resetting the watch, in fact, I was going to suggest you try that if I hadn't read it in your post.

You also may want to consider updating the app if you haven't done so already (I know that there have been updates since the last month on Android, so you may want to check your app store).  This can also contribute to some of the sync issues.
