Can the Sense heart rate sensor be recalibrated?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

the pulse or HR on my fitbit sense has, in the past week started reading about 5 beats/min higher. It used to be accurate but now, when measured manually is 5 beats high. Is there any way to recalibrate or correct this

Mine reads 20-30 beats lower during workouts and says I’m below zone.  Consider yourself lucky!!

You could always try a Shutdown from the watch Settings menu. Wait at least 10 seconds before placing on the charger to restart it and charge it.

It may help to refresh the operating system but HR readings can be erratic for this watch if movement is involved, both over reading or under reading, mine reads nearly double at tines but is ok at rest or for sleep.

My experience (and many other users in this forum and other websites) says that Sense HR might be accurate when sleeping (and indeed if you see almost the totality of indexes provided by Fitbit as health metrics are taken during sleeping) while, when awake and moving, it's no more than a random number generator.

Last sunday during an hiking my wife's Sense measured a maximum of 85 bpm while, later on, when watching TV it spiked at 120....

@Rufous44 I agree with you, I use two frequency meters for measurement and the sense hardly exceeds 158 bpm. I can feel my heart beating very strongly and the sense will inform you that it is between 89/115.

In outdoor races the maximum I got with the sense was 182 bpm, while another frequency was almost 210 bpm.

This affects the metric used to monitor calorie burn and overall, as the basics of the smartwatch/fitness tracker are its heart rate sensor and its accelerometer.

The Fitbit sense is a little disappointing. Not sure if I am wrong but I seem to remember that my old Iconic was more reliable as a basic HR monitor. With the sense, just sitting in a truck on a rough off-road track generates exercise zone minutes.

I had a versa lite and I really liked the accuracy of it, although it was a little outdated it was a method to get away from other manufacturers, I saw many positive posts about the sense and my eyes lit up at the launch, but it was all a disappointment.

The marketing used at the beginning was very good, but only after a year of use do you know how disappointing it is.
