Does anyone know if it's possible to lock the screen while a workout is running on the new sense? It's constantly pausing or knocking off on my ionic and it's the only thing that is really missing.

Hi everyone.
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about the Sense. I understand how helpful it'd be to lock your watch during your exercises and I'm sorry this isn't possible. Fitbit strives to improve the experience with our products and the feedback we received from our members helps us to evaluate our procedures and work on that. Rest assured your comments won't be the exception.
If you haven't done so, please support this idea by adding your vote so our development team can keep tracking it over time, as well as take it into consideration for new updates. To learn more about how Fitbit decides which suggestions get developed, visit our FAQs.

@devinerocks Welcome to the Community.
Thank you for your inquiry. The Sense will track exercises as previous smart watches do but you can share your idea on how to improve this feature in our Feature Suggestions board. Search for the idea first to see if one already exists so you can add your vote. The more votes an idea gets the more likely the developers will try to implement it. I was able to find this suggestion already so make sure you add your vote there.
Let me know how it goes.

Thanks but I think pretty much every avid Fitbit user has suggested that feature for years now... Shame they don't want to listen to their customers. I'd pay whatever for a new Fitbit if it had that function!

I just posted this as a suggestion AGAIN. It's beyond me why this is such a hard thing to do 😠

Amazing isn't it?
Just make it so that you need to press a button on the right at the same time as a button on the left to lock and unlock the screen.
That would surely solve the problem for most people.

@LizzyFitbit I would support the 3 year old idea but it turns out I already have because I was referred to that thread when I asked the same question when I was using a Fitbit Versa years ago.

This should easily be implemented. In fact there is already such a lock during swimming mode, the watch will not react to touch unless you reset the lock.
Very lazy on the leadership team to not listen and have the software team implement some code. I am tired of noticing my watch is not tracking activity 5 mins into an intense workout.

@LizzyFitbit this is a joke, right? This has been suggested since the Blaze was around. It would help a great deal if you could set a number of requests for a feature to be implemented - I'm positive this one is in the hundreds, if not in the thousands.
I flip my hand up to see my pulse during a workout and most of the time the screen stays black, but sure enough the second I put place my hands under my hips to protect my lower back during some exercises, the tracker pauses. This is irritating and then some

It's just amazing I love my Fitbit sense and the one thing I need a lock screen it doesn't have. Apple does Samsung does and so does Garmin. I'm probably going to switch over to Garmin because the amount of times my watch is pause during a workout is way more than it has stayed running. It's really getting on my nerves I am done with Fitbit. I'm kind of shocked with basically being a fitness watch more than just a regular watch It would not have this feature very disappointed

Hi everyone.
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about the Sense. I see where you're coming from and while this feature isn't available on the Sense, my best advice is to vote for this request shared in the Feature Suggestions board. While it's not currently planned, our team left voting open to keep tracking this request over time.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused, your feedback is appreciated and please know we'll keep working to make Fitbit more useful for you.

So ummm 3years later...STILL apologizing for not having such a basic feature.
I too am reaching my breaking point! I spend the most time looking at the watch just to ensure my workout isn't paused.
Id even be cool with the ability to lock the screen constantly and not just during workouts. I use zero of the apps or features...my primary and dang near only reason for a smartwatch is to track my workouts. And unfortunately the only reason I'm stuck with Fitbit is simply because I like the App. Sounds like it's time to bite the bullet and move on.

Welcome to the forums, @AntDog313.
Thanks for joining this thread and sharing your experience. I understand your point of view about being able to lock your watch at anytime, I'm sorry this isn't available on the Sense. Fitbit constantly works to improve our devices, and the input we receive from our members is a big part of the process. Please know your feedback is truly appreciated.

I was sick of it and swapped to Garmin. It has been the best move. It's very easy to only see Fitbit and what it offers when it's all you've ever used and making a jump you wonder will I still have X or Y, well the answer is you will and more! I supported Fitbit for years and years but getting the same generic responses to issues was just enough. Also my initial question was about the ionic but the moderator response is about the sense so they just don't listen 🤷:female_sign:
Long story short, swapping to Garmin was the move!

Thank you so much for your reply I am really tired of it. I have to check my watch 50 times a workout and keep on unpausing it. I'm just shocked Fitbit when they made the new sense would not have added this feature with so many questions about it. I thought I just was not figuring out how to do it. My watch is not even a year old and it's not even charging right either I have to contact them. But I will not be getting a Fitbit again I'm going to go to Garmin In fact that was my choice in the beginning but I went with Fitbit Thank you so much for your reply
