I’m reading your question a little different from @t.parker. Your cardio fitness score is Fitbit’s estimate of your VO2max. Fitbit’s algorithm is proprietary, but the way I interpret the Help article, your cardio fitness score will improve when you’re doing steady state activity at a slower heart rate, not a faster one.
