Dashboard missing and steps not recording

I have a Sense and the dashboard on my device is missing. I have a blank screen. In addition, my activity steps are not being recorded. I am unable to reach Fitbit support through live chat. Any help is appreciated.

By Dashboard, I suppose you mean the "Today" app? Just in case, you have tried to switch the device off from your watch settings?

(Swipe left -> Settings -> Swipe Down -Tap Switch / turn off)?

Not the Today app. The dashboard you see when you swipe up which includes detailed stats and weather. Also, would you know why my Fitbit is only recording steps during exercise (e.g. elliptical and not walking)

Hmm, to me it sounds like an incomplete firmware upgrade . Perform a hard reset by pressing the button for approximately 10 seconds. At first it will look like nothing is happening, but after 10 seconds the Fitbit Logo appears on the screen, let go of the button. If this doesn't help, you have to reset Sense to factory settings:

  • Unpair Sense from phone
  • Swipe left and tap "Settings"

Thanks for your help.  Resetting the device restored the stats and weather.  However, my issue with steps and an additional issue with motion on has not been resolved,  Support at Fitbit were unable to resolve the issue and concluded there is an issue with the device that is not fixable.
