Does the fitbit sense calculate BMI and then track it?

@Carmel65 , as @Odyssey13 says, Sense of course cant wiegh you, but you can manually input your weight and height. There is a third party app to be found in the app section in yout Fitbit app.

BMI is not a reliable metric anymore anyway and here in the UK a number of MPs are petitioning for it to be largely ignored by doctors as it is a very crude measurement.

@SunsetRunner , crude measurement is correct, but the normal range span goes from 18.5 to 25,, except for bodybuilders it is reliable in the meaning you are not underweight, and you are not in any danger of developing weight related complications such as diabetes.

Sorry but I and many others disagree. it's not just bodybuilders, what about sports people like rugby players? what about trades such as builders? My friend who suffered from anorexia couldn't get help as her BMI was not deemed low enough even though it was down to 13.5!! There are many factors which could point to problems such as diabetes and BMI is just an outdated scale, better to look at chest/waist ratio.

Bodybuilders, rugby builders and builders are by far close to be a majority of the population. BMI divides you into 1 of 6 groups, That your friend couldn't get help is because caretakers are using BMI in a way it is not meant to be, that is another discussion entirely.
