Since last week's app update the syncs of my morning run have led to incorrect step counts.
I have screenshots from my last normally synced run (2/2 at 6am EST) showing that I ran 5.51 miles and it generated 10,083 steps. The app updated on my (iphone 12) sometime that day and my subsequent runs look like this:
2/3 5.66 miles, 7,600 steps
2/4 5.77 miles 7,755 steps
2/7 5.75 miles 7,722 steps
2/8 5.26 miles, 7149 steps
I went back in and manually entered this morning's run, which led to the impact statement reading (immediately after entry): 10,047 of 8,858 steps taken today.
It seems obvious to me that something in that 2/2 update broke the way runs were syncing. The lowered step count impacts my use of the calorie module, because my full run does not get factored into the "calories out" total.
I've tried all the tips suggested on these boards: deleted and reloaded the app, disconnected and reconnected my Sense, restarted the Sense. Please update the app to fix this issue. I can provide screen shots for the off days as well as YEARS of data showing that this Sense (and the Versa before it) registering my typical 5.5 mile runs at somewhere around 10,000 steps. I understand that refinements to GPS may lead to greater accuracy and lower step count, however a 2,000 step reduction is a lot. The more conservative miles-to-steps calculators suggest ca 9,000 steps is equivalent to 5.5 miles.
