Somehow accumulated 36,000 steps in my sleep...  I wanted to reset my steps for today so unpaired the device, performed a factory reset, deleted Fitbit app cache and restarted my phone. I tried this 5 times but the Fitbit device is still showing 36k steps as well as the app.

Doing a factory reset of your tracker, will never reset any data already stored in the fitbit cloud server. The data is not on your tracker anymore.

The only way to remove steps from your fitbit account is to log this time as driving.
