Find my phone issue (Android 12)

Hi all.

The 'Find my phone' function on my Fitbit Sense appears to be glitchy. If I have my phone with me and with the Fitbit app open I get the tone/siren loud and clear but the moment I don't have the app open the siren stops. Sometime my phone emits a 'pip', other times it's just silent. But as soon as I have the app open the full siren immediately starts up again.

Any suggestions gratefully received. Am on a OnePlus 8 Pro running Android 12 and my Sense is on the latest firmware.

Many thanks.

Hi @Raz124  - it could be that the Fitbit App is not running in background.

One way to check this is to use the SimpleCheckUp app [second test for connection] before going to the next option find my phone.

If it finds a connection but the find my phone doesn't work then it can be another problem.

Thank you @Guy_. The app worked well and found the phone connection. Again, the Find My Phone function works well and the phone rings loudly but only when the Fitbit app is open and onscreen. As soon as I return to the Android homepage the ring/tone stops functioning and becomes a 'peep' instead. Have tried 'cloking' the Fitbit app in recent apps and turning off battery optimisation and ticked to ensure that processes can run in the background but nothing seems to help as yet. Suspect it's a OnePlus software issue...

@Raz124  -. Thanks, How are you going to the phone home screen?

By using the home button or the back button, does it make a difference, once the Fitbit App is not in foreground?

Hi @Guy_ . Thank you again. Doesn't make a difference whether I use the back gesture or tap to return straight to the 'home screen'. The tone becomes a 'peep' instead of the 'tune'. The Fitbit app is still running in the background - there is still a 'peep' tone, but it's not the full tune. Perhaps it's something to do with the way in which my phoine is handling a specific subset of app notifications.

@Raz124  - probably a phone configuration/version issue, some other people have also found the noise generated by the phone a problem, have a search in the forums for similar cases, it may have been a different phone model.

I have this exact issue after finally updating to Android 12 on the OnePluse 8 Pro.  Did you ever find a resolution? @Raz124

Hi @dan444. Afraid not. Still glitchy. Suspect it's OnePlus-specific. Will get a phone by a different manufacturer next time! 🙂

My wife has the same problem. Oneplus 9 pro. Uninstalling and reinstalling gives a one time solution. After that, it makes only a single beep.

It doesn't matter Fitbit app foreground, background, sound on or off. I guess there's something about Oneplus because her previous (7) had the same problem.
