Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @M.E.77.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and your concern. Fitbit takes our commitment to your health seriously, which includes ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to our medical and health features. These features must meet certain requirements that vary by country. For this reason, some features, like the Fitbit ECG app and Fitbit SpO2, aren’t available in all countries at this time.
While we don't have the exact date when the Fitbit ECG app will be available in the Middle East or in the UAE, we continue to evaluate the availability of Fitbit’s features globally and hope to make them more widely available in the future. For a list of countries where the ECG app is cleared for use, see www.fitbit.com/global/us/technology/ecg. Thank you for your understanding.
For more information about the Fitbit ECG app, see What is the Fitbit ECG app?
See you around.

Then please explain why apple's ecg app was already approved in September 2020?

Thank you for your reply, @M.E.77.
I understand your concern and thank you for providing a link. Each country has to individually certify the different manufacturers hardware and firmware. In this case Apple has been certified by the UAE government and Fitbit still hasn't. I appreciate your patience and understanding.
Have a good day.

Best AnswerIt has been a year since fitbit is trying to get it approved. I haven't upgraded my tracker for this same reason. There is no points of getting the new tracker if the new features are not available.
Any update on the ECG app yet?
I wish the unavailability of the ECG app in UAE and certain other countries was highlighted. My Fitbit just arrived and much to my horror, the Assessments and Reports section doesn't even exist under Discover.
I was looking forward to using it and was one of the main reasons why I got the watch in the first place.
Can I download it in another country where its available and will it continue to work for me in the UAE?
Hi - do you know if this works? if I download it in the UK for example will it work? I'm currently looking at buying the sense for my husband but if it doesn't work in the UAE then bit useless and I'll go for versa 3!
Thanks
No, still not working😤
There are other brands that have these features that actually work within the UAE. I would suggest buying one there. This is a never ending story, I'm starting to wonder if it's ever going to work on the Fitbit. I'm very disappointed.
Hi there @M.E.77 @FMC2195 so I got my husband the sense anyway and he was in the UK when he opened the gift and did an ecg easily of course. When we came back to Dubai it didn’t work but now… it works! He just switched on the VPN app (we use Nord) and connected as if he’s in the UK and did the ecg on his phone!
In fact I'm planning to buy one which works in UAE. When I went to India for vacation it was working and as soon I landed back in UAE the app got disappeared!
Hi @M.E.77 and @FMC2195 can I ask you a question please? Since you both have the versa and are in the Middle East… have you had problems with the fitbit charger? My husband is losing the plot haha. We have now bought 3 chargers so far. The tiny pins keep going in somehow and won’t charge. Getting so annoying! Any ideas/tips? Thanks!
