Fitbit Sense counting steps while cycling

It seems that my Fitbit is counting steps when cycling.
It may be because of all the bumps on the road, but it seems to me that if it knows you are cycling, it shouldn’t be counting step?

Some fine tuning may be required.

It's the way all Fitbits work by design.

And Apples and Garmin

This distance, is not added to the daily toll. I haven't checked on the false steps.

@Rich_Laue can't speak for Apple but Garmin, Polar and Suunto watches turn off steps recognition when cycling. Use one first before, don't guess.

I believe there were discussions years ago where some users wanted to earn credit (in the form of steps for challenges) for cycling. I think Fitbit compromised by offering some step credit (but reduced).

It would be nice if the option was left to the user though, turning it on or off to suit your own needs.

Not suretabout that @Marc.L but the web is full of step count and cycling with garmin and apple. It could be that garmin has updated.

@N8teGee these requests have died but still there,
