@PRT940 I hope you are doing fine.

Thank you for sharing this great sale on Amazon. Always make sure that the device is sold under the Fitbit store on Amazon or by Amazon themselves to have the back up of these two companies. Hopefully this will benefit other users interested in the new Fitbit Sense.

I'll be around.

I had mine on order but it was at the higher price.  So I cancelled order and reordered at lower price

It's a good deal but people should remember that Prime returns are 30 days and buying from Fitbit gives you 45 days. Not a huge difference but it should be known. I am staying with my pre-order from Fitbit.

Why do you want to return your Sense? I plan to keep mine.

But since you're interested in return policies, you should also note that Fitbit makes you pay return shipping while Amazon's return is completely free

Amazon is not being quite so generous in the UK. The Sense is on offer for £299.00, down from £299.99

Oh I'm not returning them. My wife and I are excited to get them. I was explaining to someone the benefit of buying direct from Fitbit. Anyway the $6 return fee is no big deal. Some people may prefer an extra 2 weeks to test their device? As a 2 year Fitbit customer I know I will be keeping the sense.

Before you buy the Fitbit Versa 3 or Sense, be aware you cannot store music on them without a Pondora or Deezer subscription. Please vote here for Fitbit to change that decision and allow normal, onboard music storage: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/Music-storage-on-Sense/idi-p/4452403

@mikeyt1818 I guess if you know you are keeping the watch, then the decision to forego the free $25 seems hard to understand.

Because I ordered the hour they went on pre-order. If I cancel and ordered from Amazon I will get it days, possibly a week after the order from Fitbit. I know it sounds petty to some but I like getting tech the day or two after it is officially released.

I don't think your facts are right. Amazon has a history of shipping 1 day earlier than Fitbit. And Amazon would tell you if their initial lot is sold out. It is not. True, I won't be able to tell my grandkids about how I pre-ordered in the first hour (not that I care) but I have a decent chance of receiving my watch earlier and a 100% chance of getting it cheaper 😉

They may have a limited allotment as does the Home Shopping Network (1,300 allotted). Depending on how many pre-orders there are. When my brother pre-ordered the iPhone SE he waited 2+ weeks due to limited amount at Amazon, my wife got hers in 2 days from Apple directly. Now it could be that Amazon has enough to fulfill all orders but I am not risking it especially when my wife and I leave the US the first week of October.

As I said the first time, Amazon would tell you if they had sold out on their initial lot

We shall see who gets it first. Not risking leaving US without knowing 100% I will have the devices in hand. Glad you can save a couple of bucks!

Be careful assuming that you'll get your Sense from Fitbit before you'd get it from Amazon or another retailer. I got burned a couple times pre-ordering immediately from Fitbit only to see Amazon and other retailers ship at basically the same time (unless you paid Fitbit for overnight delivery). So I changed my strategy so that I placed one order with Fitbit and one with Amazon, and then when one of the two orders shipped, I canceled the other order or refused delivery on it.

But now for Fitbit devices that ship in the fall of the year, I just wait a couple months until Black Friday so I can get a lower price and also see a couple months worth of reviews. Plus maybe they'll have the ECG functionality approved by then.

OK just so everyone knows, I called Amazon to confirm and they say if I order now on Prime I will have the two Sense devices between September 29-30. I then chatted with Fitbit customer care and they say they do not know when I will receive it buy should be 4-6 business days after they are released. I guess that would take me to Sept 29-31? So I gave in to temptation and saved the $48 and ordered the two on Amazon. As long as I have them by October 2nd when we leave the States I will be happy. Thanks for the advice/tips guys!

@mikeyt1818 Haha, I love it. When presented with information that shows there may be a better option than the one you chose:

Step 1: Dispute, deny and discredit the information

Step 2: Relax, cool down, go for a run

Step 3: Realize that the information was actually correct and change to the better option

Haha!! To your credit, you admitted it, that is honorable! Most people do step 3 quietly. 😄 😄

I like to share my mistakes so others can learn from it. I'm a teacher so I guess it's in my nature. Thanks again!

I have been a Prime member since they started it, but since March, my Prime shipping has been awful. Stuff I ordered on Friday will not get here until this Friday. All marked Prime. I hardly get anything with the advertised 2-day shipping anymore. I pre-ordered with FItbit, we shall see what happens. I ordered a sports band too.

One thing I am done with buying from amazon is the "Fitbit chargers." One of them zapped my Versa 2. RIP. I am so excited for the Sense's magnetic charger. I am so tired of the alligator clips.

Best Answer

Yes I can't wait to say goodbye to that annoying charger too. And yes Amazon has been a little slower lately but I am hoping their ETA of Sept 29-30 is on the money. I did order two bands from Fitbit and I will keep those orders in. I am glad it will be much easier to change bands on the Sense and Versa 3 but I am a little sad because I have 2 nice Horween Leather bands for my Versa 2 that still look and feel great and I suppose I will sell them on eBay for 25% of what I paid for them.
