Fitbit Sense keeps Un-pairing from phone

I used to have a Fitbit charge 3 and it worked perfectly. Got the new Fitbit sense for Christmas and I’ve had nothing but problems with it! The battery life is rubbish and it won’t syncs. I keep trying to repair it, reset the watch and forget the device on Bluetooth. Why does it keep doing this? This is a £300 smart watch.I had no problems with my charge 3.

There does seem to be problems in some cases, mine works totally fine.

Please check your phone is on the compatible phone list. It could be an issue.

Hi Guy, glad yours is working perfectly fine. It’s such a shame this keeps happening as I’ve been a Fitbit member since Jan 2016. Like I said previously, I’ve had no problems with my other FitBits, just the sense. I’ve just managed to repair it again but, this is the 4 time in a couple of weeks that this happens. It becomes frustrating.

Have you contacted Fitbit Support directly to inform them of the problem. They may be able to help you.

Have you gone through the troubleshooting steps

For your tracker to sync, the tracker does not need to be paired.

While the user can remove the tracker from the phones phones Bluetooth. They then need to open the Fitbit app and wait for the Fitbit app to ask for permission to pair.

There is no process that a user can do to re-pair the Bluetooth. Only the Fitbit app can do the pairing.

The user can remove the tracker from their fittbit account (this is almost always the biggest mistake a user could do). The tracker will need to be setup, as part of the setup process the Fitbit app will ask for permission to pair.

An unpaired tracker will sync. Pair is only needed for the other functions like notification and apps like weather.

But to say I re-pair at best tells me you are trying to do something you should not be able to do.

Same issue here. Its been 3 weeks since i got it and im just about to throw it in the trash. I have to keep pairing it with my phone twice a day to receive notifications from whatsap and Gmail. All the other health tracks work well though.

Hi @EmmaSaddul  - it could be a phone settings issue. Make sure that battery savings is not enabled on your phone as this could shut down things causing the connection to be lost.

What steps do you take to pair the tracker to the phone?

When the tracker unpairs, does it disappear from the list of trusted Bluetooth devices?

Does that mean there is a glitch in the Sense?

I'm still not sure what the issue is.

The UP says that they have to continually pair the tracker. My confusion here is that, the user will not be able to pair the tracker hey can setup the tracker, then the fitbit app will ask permission to pair.

Apon opening thd fitbit app, the app will ask for permission to pair, if that is needed.

IE: A few days ago, I opened the fitbit app the app asked for permission to setup call answering. Problem fixed

I am having issues to and i think this is what they are suggesting.  I was getting notifications on my Charge 3 from the next room, but my new sense often has that No Phone Connected sign even when im in the same room as it.  I thought being newer the bluetooh connection would be better tha my charge 3 (which wasnt great) but no, its possibly actually not as good.

@franceslewis. You are describing the tracker disconnecting from BT.

Un-pairing is when the Tracker gets removed from the phones Bluetooth.

My suggestion would be to open the fitbit app, and if needed, go into the notification settings and set it up.

@franceslewis  - your connectivity issue may be the phone.

The Charge 3 has Bluetooth 4 while the Sense has Bluetooth 5 and the current phone may be less able to deal with it (whether natively or possibly in fall back mode). So have a look at the phone specifications.
