Accepted Solutions

Logout of the Fitbit App, restart both watch and phone then try Tips to pair Sense via Bluetooth

If by repairing Fitbit you mean factory reset, you will need to do a setup of the watch again

In the phone Fitbit App

Click on profile photo [top left]

Click on  + Set up a Device

Follow the installation instructions

I've been having this same issue. It happened about a month ago. I contacted support and they gave me the instructions to repair it. I had to do it a few times. It took me hours before it started working again. Was fine for about a month and now it's happening again. I'm trying to disconnect / re-pair it again and it's not working. I'm SO disappointed with my Fitbit Sense. I believe it to be a faulty product in so many ways.

@rjkuser  Did you do the first step "logout ...." in the previous post [not the second steps]?

If so, post back your phone type and what other steps you did.

I managed to get my to pair by following the instructions but now it is only showing calories burned in the app and not tracking steps or sleep

@KerrR  Well done.

Do you mean its not showing steps in the middle on the Fitbit App main today page?

You can click on Edit and move the elements around if thats the issue.

Or if you haven't done any steps so far try moving whilst wearing the watch, and see if it records the changes.

You won't get any data for when you weren't wearing the watch, or wasn't previously loaded into the App.

At worst if there is a Fitbit App issue you can clear the cache

In Android phone Settings *

Apps

Fitbit

Storage - clear cache [not data]

Force Fitbit shutdown

[though it doesn't seem to fully]

Log back in to the Fitbit app

*Quick Shortcut: Press and hold the Fitbit launch icon, then App info [on some phones]

Or for IOS uninstall/reinstall the Fitbit App, and redo notification setup.

I was able to get it to work - disabled blue tooth, removed the device, re-added the device, re-paired the device. It didn't work the first time. Worked the second time. Wish I didn't have to do this at all - not sure why it keeps running to the issue of non syncing. But at least it's working now. Hopefully will continue to work.  Thanks for the reply!

@rjkuser  Thanks, if you want syncing to work constantly you need to check the battery saving options on your phone to make sure that the Fitbit App remains running in background

On the phone check battery optimizations

[the options may be different in your version]

  • First go to Settings > Apps & Notification > Special app access
  • Click on Battery optimization
  • Now press the drop down menu [...] and select “All Apps
  • Click on Bluetooth and then select “Don’t optimize
  • Same with Fitbit

Also its a good idea to keep the phone and watch in close proximity so that they can communicate when needed.

My Fitbit Sense last synced around 10 am Saturday March 20th 2021.  Tried all steps several times. Not working. Thinking of taking off the Sense and going back to older Charge 2 with a slight crack on the face.
