Fitbit app is being closed even after background refresh is switched on, iphone

1) Unable to keep the fitbit app open to get notifications on watch, have the background refresh on for the app.

2) Is there a way to switch off bluetooth on sense to save battery?

@rk66, you  don't need to keep the Fitbit open on your phone for it to send notifications to your watch. It will run in the background, and send notifications as they are generated. 

You cannot turn the Bluetooth off on the Sense, but it is not a big battery drain.

What model phone is the Fitbit app on @rk66.

Some phones have specific instructions.. 

Of you reboot the phone, do you get notifications?
