Fix for Sense microphone stopped working

The microphone on my Sense stopped working. Google Assistant did not hear what I was saying and responded with "Try saying..." with various suggestions. I saw another thread about this problem and followed through to the end. Fitbit was no help to multiple users, with the standard, reboot, reset, unpair suggestions and some users had their Sense replaced. The last response in the thread was a guy who cleaned out the microphone hole with a needle and it started working. I used a very small, pointy Q-tip dipped in alcohol and it fixed mine! I have only had the Sense for about a week. It has never had any exposure to dirt or water. Who knows what was in the microphone hole - lint from clothing?

which one is the mic hole and how did you clean it out?

The microphone continued to fail. Fitbit ended up replacing the watch and the microphone has not failed with the new watch. They did not require me to return the defective watch.

In regards to the microphone, have you made sure it's turned on? To do this, open the Settings app, swipe up to see the full list of settings, and tap Microphone to adjust it. Where is the microphone hole located?

The microphone quit working on the replacement watch. It constantly would lose the connection to the phone and I had to re-enable it frequently. It finally stopped responding to sound, just like the original watch. Clearly there is a problem with the microphone and Google Assistant on this watch.
